Barack and Michelle Obama have joined the rest of the world in mourning the loss of Dick Clark after a sudden heart attack took his life on Wednesday.

The President and his First Lady have released a LOVELY joint statement, which perfectly honors "America's oldest teenager," as Obama calls him.

Obama declares that the American Bandstand host is responsible for introducing "decades' worth of viewers to the music of our times" and praises him for "the way he made us feel."

America lost a legend yesterday. Dick Clark, the longtime host of American Bandstand and New Year's Rockin' Eve, passed away after a massive heart attack at the age of 82.

As expected, fans and celebrities alike were instantly mourning his passing. To honor one of the most famous television personalities of ALL TIME, people in Bronson, Mississippi gathered outside Dick Clark's American Bandstand Theater last night for a candlelight vigil.

After the super sad news broke of Dick Clark's death yesterday, celebs took to Twitter to mourn the late Father of musical TV.

Ryan Seacrest's heart was perhaps hit a little harder than the rest of Hollywood, a feeling reflected in HIS post-mortem Tweet.

After last night's American Idol, Ryan remembered his close friend and mentor in an emotional interview (above).
