Johnny Depp has been one of the West Memphis Three's most passionate supporters.

Throughout their time spent in jail and beyond, Johnny has lent his SEKSI platform to raise awareness on their story — one that many believe to be a great example of a flawed justice system.

But despite the horrors Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley faced during their 18 years behind bars, they're able to enjoy their freedom.

And Damien credits Johnny in some of that, saying:

Director Peter Jackson has completed the documentary highlighting the West Memphis Three.

The documentary, West of Memphis, directed by Amy Berg, will chronicle the three Arkansas men accused of murder as teens.

Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley Jr., and Jason Baldwin were arrested of murdering three 8 year old boys in 1993.

They were charged and convicted in 1994, with Misskelley and Baldwin receiving life sentences.

Echols, 18 at the time, was sentenced to death.
