Parks & Rec's Leslie Knope Has An Important Message After Hillary Clinton's Loss — Read Her Funny & Inspiring Open Letter To Women!
And with so many like-minded people feeling confused and angry over Hillary Clinton's defeat, the Democratic nominee's biggest (fictional) supporter — Parks and Recreation's Leslie Knope — has imparted some wisdom on just what to do next.
In an open letter sent out to multiple sites, the optimistic politician played by Amy Poehler said she does not accept the idea Trump's views reflect the people of our country.
The Pawnee native wrote:
"I acknowledge that Donald Trump is the president. I understand, intellectually, that he won the election. But I do not accept that our country has descended into the hatred-swirled slop pile that he lives in. I reject out of hand the notion that we have thrown up our hands and succumbed to racism, xenophobia, misogyny, and crypto-fascism. I do not accept that. I reject that. I fight that. Today, and tomorrow, and every day until the next election, I reject and fight that story."
After comparing Trump to a "giant farting T. Rex" that was voted President of Pawnee Elementary School in a landslide election from her childhood, Leslie reminded citizens that just because a monster is elected president doesn't suddenly make him any less of a monster.
