It has to be a horrible thing to watch your daughter fall into the depths of addiction.

Mitch Winehouse has written a memoir about Amy called Amy, My Daughter, and how he could never really get into Back In Black because of everything she was singing about.

It was about her ex, Fielder-Civil, whom Mitch blames for his daughter's descent into alcohol and drugs.

Here's what he said:

"Long before Amy was an addict, no one could tell her what to do. Once she became an addict, her stubbornness just got worse. There were times when she wanted to be clean, but the times when she didn't outnumbered them."

Most of the book is about the cycle of attempted recoveries and relapses that plagued her — mix that with some stage fright, and friends claiming she grew to dislike singing songs from Back In Black because it reminded her of her ex, and you've got the perfect situation for someone to drink before they go on.

Any way you look at it, it's sad.

We wish she had never had those struggles!

Mitch and Janis Winehouse, proud parents of Amy Winehouse, have launched The Amy Winehouse Foundation at the Joe's Pub Press Conference in NYC!

This is the same venue where Amy debuted in the US in 2007. They spoke about their daughter and and Amy’s friends and fans, in setting up the Foundation in Amy’s memory and keeping with her passion of wanting to help

Amy Winehouse's father, Mitch, has set up a foundation in his daughter's honor — and they're now ready to turn their grief into action.

“The launch of Amy's foundation 14th September. We will turn our grief into positive action. (sic)”

The charity would have gone live much sooner, but there were issues with the registration.

“Somebody else pinched it off of us before we could get it registered. All these donations which are coming in - we don't know what to do with them at the moment. We'll have to hold off for the time being".

The charity itself is in position to help young addicts overcome their addictions, and hopefully save lives before it's too late like Amy's.

We really hope this charity is successful, there are so many people out there battling these issues. We'd love to see this help some lives.

Amy Wino is clean?!

The wild singer says that she has not used drugs in almost three years. She also admits that she is determined to stay clean.

In 2008 Amy went on an 8 month trip to the Caribbean where she dealt with her addiction to alcohol and narcotics.

Upon her return to London she INSISTED that she was clean.
She also reveals that she literally woke up one day three years ago and thought “I don’t want to do this anymore,” and then just didn’t!

Let’s hope this girl stays clean and sober! Do U think she will???
