The famous Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is set to begin this Saturday, but the race has had to maneuver through a series of changes this year because of the lack of snow on the ground along their usual route.
The race was moved from Willow, Alaska to a different starting point in Fairbanks which is about 225 miles north of their original spot!
Maybe they could just ask Boston for some of their snow…
Oh shiz! Alaskan drama that DOESN'T involve Sarah Palin!
Check out (above) this footage of Tony Hopfinger, an editor for the on-line magazine Alaska Dispatch, being handcuffed and detained by private security after he attempted to interview Republican senate candidate Joe Miller at an Anchorage town hall event!
Miller, who now refuses to answer questions about his personal life after it was revealed that he was nearly fired from his attorney job in 2008 for a serious ethics breach, was reportedly being hounded by Hopfinger, and had his private security detail intervene. Hopfinger claims that the incident started when the aforementioned guards starting harassing him.
William Fulton, one of the guards, issued the following statement regarding the incident:
"The Dispatch reporter repeatedly pushed a camera into the face of Mr. Miller. He continued to aggressively pursue him. I told the reporter several times that he needed to stop and that he was trespassing, he ignored me. He then proceeded to stalk Mr. Miller and even shoved an individual into a locker. Based upon this trespass and his assault, we detained him and escorted him from the premises."
Why does a CANDIDATE for the Alaskan senate even need security detail?
We were waiting for that jaw-dropping moment at the 2015 VMAs-- and we think Kanye Westjust checked off that box!
The All Day performer was awarded the night's honorable Video Vanguard Award, presented to him by Taylor Swift, who spoke about the infamous "Imma let you finish" fiasco from six years ago.
But when Yeezy took to the stage, he made it abundantly clear that he doesn't understand award shows!
After relishing in the applause for a bit too long, the rapper gave a long-winded speech that seemed to start out as an apology for his past antics, then turned into throwing MTVunder the bus for only wanting good ratings, and then he reminded us that children are the future.
'Ye wrapped up his speech the best way possible -- by, what else, announcing that he'll be running for president in 2020! (Yes, srsly!)
Check out the speech (above) and see if you think Kanye is seriously running for prez!
