A group with historic links to Nazi Germany was "proud" when Donald Trump's aide Sebastian Gorka represented the party in an Inauguration Day event (above).
According to NBC News, the top counterterrorism adviser wore an honorary medal from Hungarian nationalist organization Vitezi Rend to Trump's Inaugural Ball, which caused the media conglomerate to dig deeper into the group's sketchy past.
The group was founded in 1920 to award medals to Hungarian vets of WWI, but the ideals of the Vitez Order evolved in 1938 when the group allied with Nazi Germany, and were likely involved in the murder of some Hungarian Jews toward the end of WWII.
Gorka denied connections, but NBC reported that three people claim he was a well known member of the group. Vitezi Rend spokesman Andras Horvath was honored by the shout out, telling NBC News:
