Does Alaska Have Its Own Loch Ness Monster?!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueEtc.Sarah Palin

loch-ness-monster-discovered-in-alaska

Oh, crap! Why did that mother effing cryptid have to end up there??!

That thing better start swimming, and FAST!

Doesn't he know that Sarah Palin likes to shoot things out of helicopters for fun?! He could be next!

The legend of the Loch Ness monster has been around for centuries, but apparently, a video has surfaced from 2009 that depicts a very-similar looking creature making its way across an Alaskan body of water, which is set to air tonight on the show Hillstranded, a new Discovery Channel special!

Check out a photo from the footage (above)!

According to various accounts, this thing has a "long neck, a horse-like head, large eyes, and back bumps that stick out of the water," and many suspect that it's a Cadborosaurus, which apparently originated from Cadboro Bay, British Columbia.

Paul LeBlond, the former head of the Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences at the University of British Columbia, says:

"I am quite impressed with the video. Although it was shot under rainy circumstances in a bouncy ship, it's very genuine. It must be a mammal or a reptile, since it oscillates up and down in a vertical plain, which eliminates sideways-oscillating fish. We cannot go out in the ocean poking everywhere, but we are always on the lookout for new accounts."

And according to the Hillstranded star, Andy Hillstrand:

"We saw a big, long white thing moving in the water. We chased it for about 20 minutes. Spray came out of its head. It was definitely not a shark. A giant eel may be possible, but eels don't have humps that all move in unison. I've never seen anything like it before. We live in Alaska, so we might investigate 'Cadborosaurus' again in future. We are always up for an adventure."

Fascinating, indeed!

And although we're sure it's either a fake or something else entirely, we want to see this full video!

No harm in keeping an open mind about those scaly little friends we may not yet know are out there!

And again, if there IS some bizarre Loch Ness creature swimming around up there, we hope it stays FAR away from Sarah's house! Ha!

Deadliest Catch Captains Talk About Quitting The Show

deadliest catch captains discuss discovery lawsuit

After quitting Deadliest Catch, Captains Andy Hillstrand, Johnathan Hillstrand and Sig Hansen explained that the process of leaving was more difficult than crab fishing.

Andy Hillstrand said:

“It was a lot about our rights to do our own brand. There was a lot of misunderstanding. We thought Discovery had everything they needed but then they came back and said they needed pickup shots so our schedule was pretty much screwed. It got to the point in our relationship where something had to change and we just said enough’s enough. So we butted heads for a while.

It kind of made it look like me and Johnathan were doing this and then Sig stood up with us but Sig was with us."

They knew that they had a huge choice ahead of them!

Hansen added:

Quitting “was the right thing to do. We are brothers. I told these guys a long time ago, it’s fishing first. We made a lot of fans. We’ve affected a lot people in positive ways. People like us because we are real and what they see is what they get. All of a sudden, things got a little out of kilter. So what you see is what you get.”

And the result was not easy on the fisherman.

Johnathan Hillstrand said:

“Emotionally, it was hell. We didn’t want to be sued. We didn’t want all the fans hating Discovery. We just want our lives back, sort of. But it’s a little too late for that. So we’re sticking around. We are glad to be back and we’re glad that everyone is happier.”

Along with returning to Deadliest Catch, the brothers will be starring in Hillstranded in April, where the two will investigate myths and legends around Alaska.

Lots of luck.

Deadliest Catch Trio May Return To The Series

deadliest catch captains may return after settling discovery lawsuit

Although it's been announced that Capts. Sig Hansen, along with Andy and Johnathan Hillstrand will not be appearing on the seventh season of Deadliest Catch, but it's not a done deal.

The Hillstrand quit amidst a $3 million lawsuit filed by Discovery for allegedly not completing work on a planned spinoff special.

But since the death of Phil Harris, the show may not survive any more drastic casting changes - and the network knows it! It's rumored that the two sides are discussing a settlement so the trio can return to the show.

And they better hurry! The boats are scheduled to leave for Dutch Harbor, Alaska, by October 15th to take advantage of king crab season in the Bering Sea.

Only time will tell.
