Let's start with the first thing most people will notice the President lacks: common courtesy.

Either the international embarrassment of Canadian PM Justin Trudeau not allowing the POTUS to jerk his arm out of socket has put Trump off of handshakes, or he just hates Merkel that much.

Earlier this week, 12 people were killed when a truck crashed into a Berlin Christmas market. This morning, the man suspected of killing a dozen and injuring over 50 in the public attack was shot dead in Milan.

Italy's interior minister Marco Minniti told the Associated Press that the man killed in the police shootout is "without a shadow of a doubt" Anis Amri (pictured above), the Tunisian fugitive being searched for in the Europe-wide manhunt.

According to The Guardian, Minniti says the 24-year-old fugitive pulled out a gun when officers on patrol decided he looked suspicious and asked for his papers.

After being pressed for his papers, Amri reportedly shot one officer before being fatally gunned down by police. The officer who was shot down suffered non-life threatening injuries and is currently recovering in the hospital.

Minniti said there was "no doubt" the man killed was Amri, explaining in a press conference:

We already told you how German Chancellor Angela Merkel ended up being 2015's Person of the Year, but the I Am Cait star wound up placing as the mag's 6th runner-up.

In a candid interview, Caitlyn admitted to the magazine:

"What a responsibility I have towards this community. I just hope I get it right… There's still a lot to learn about being a woman."

While we're sure it was an honor to be included in the end-of-the-year list, GOP front-runner Donald Trump managed to beat the KUWTK matriarch coming in at No. 3… so, take that as you will.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that German Chancellor Angela Merkel was named by the magazine as Person of the Year for her leadership skills surrounding the Syrian refugees and the Greek debt crisis. Color us impressed!

Editor Nancy Gibbs shared in a statement:

"Leaders are tested only when people don't want to follow. For asking more of her country than most politicians would dare, for standing firm against tyranny as well as expedience and for providing steadfast moral leadership in a world where it is in short supply, Angela Merkel is TIME's Person of the Year."

Well said! In fact, Miz Merkel will be the first woman to receive the Person of the Year recognition — though other women have been recognized as part of a group. Girl power!

However, you'll be shocked to learn that Donald Trump joined the Black Lives Matter movement and Uber CEO Travis Kalanick as one of the other finalists. Wait, really??

Be sure to ch-ch-check out the magazine's full reasoning behind the choice in Miz Gibbs' Today show interview (below)!
