Roberto Celedon, the backyard butcher of Southern California, has finally started his prison sentence.
After months of investigating and building a case against him, the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control and the District Attorney were able to land him behind bars.
He pleaded no contest to felony charges relating to animal cruelty and
Pup-Pourri's Briana (great name) was a champion show dog, used to long grooming sessions, cheering crowds and lots of praise from everyone around her.
But just seven years later she was found living in the streets of Oakland, tangled in chicken wire, her fur covered in dirt.
Animal control officers said:
We have no idea why but every once in a while, a deer will come crashing through a storefront window.
Maybe they see a reflection or they think it's water or something totally different.
All we know is it must be terrifying for both the deer and the people inside.
Usually animal control comes and removes the deer back to the wild but this time the deer was freaking out.
So they had to sedate than euthanize it.
So sad, poor deer.
Police in rural Indiana rescued 82 dogs from a woman's home.
She may now be facing animal cruelty charges.
Animal control officers and several deputies used four trucks to take 55 of the 82 dogs to a shelter to be evaluated by vets.
Then the next day they came back for the remaining 27 dogs.
Neighbors had originally alerted authorities because with all the dogs, and all the doggy doo doo, they feared the waste might seep into their water supply.
The woman said she takes care of her dogs and feeds them daily.
Sounds like a hoarder to us.
We'll just have to wait until the police report comes out to find out if any charges are being filed.
