Over 400 Neglected Animals — Including Cats, Rabbits, Turtles, & Even An Alligator — Rescued From A Single Disgusting Home!

no title

This must have been one truly disgusting rescue mission.

When you hear "Operation Noah's Ark", you may be inclined to imagine a group of people pleasantly interacting with sets of beautiful animals.

Unfortunately, that couldn't be further from the truth… as authorities in Upstate New York just rescued more than 400 animals from a home in worse than dire living conditions!

According to the Nassau County SPCA, workers were called to a home on Tuesday when neighbors reported strange smells and noises coming from the house… only to find hundreds of birds, turtles, and other pets and wildlife left to die.

Apparently, home owner Gary Gruber had become too old to take care of the animals himself, and despite his best efforts, the creatures were living inside feces-encrusted cages that took eight hours to clean.

Of the 400+ animals found, authorities identified 251 birds, 151 turtles, four reptiles and a dozen mammals — including rabbits, prairie dogs, a chinchilla, a skunk, and even African Grey parrots and other endangered tortoise species!

This news comes less than a year after Gary was cited for keeping a 4-foot long alligator in his home… but for some reason, he was allowed to keep his six cats and dogs despite potentially facing animal cruelty charges.

Thankfully, the birds and turtles have been taken to a wildlife sanctuary in Long Island.

This is so awful!

A jaguar was shot dead in Manaus, Brazil on Monday after attempting to escape following a torch lighting ceremony en route to the Olympics in Rio.

17-year-old Juma was brought out of her military-run zoo habitat for the event, along with a sibling, because they are the mascots of Brazil's Olympic team.

When the torch passed by the zoo, handlers brought the cats out to be photographed. Shortly after, as she was being moved, Juma attempted to escape.

Soldiers tried to put her down with four tranquilizer darts, but they took too long to take effect. When Juma turned on one of the zoo's veterinarians, she was shot dead. Colonel Luiz Gustavo Evelyn said:

"To protect the handler, it was sacrificed."

The military says they are investigating the incident further.

RIP, Juma.

Powerful music can help inspire change.

Last year, Lisa Vanderpump teamed up with Sharon Osbourne in hopes of putting an end to the Yulin Dog Festival — the annual Chinese festival that tortures and slaughters thousands of dogs for their meat.

Now with her animal activism hat on, the Real Housewives star has joined forces with Diane Warren and Leona Lewis to release a haunting charity song to raise awareness about the cruel festival!

The chilling ballad (We Are All) Looking For Home was written by Warren, performed by Leona, and produced by Lisa's Stop Yulin Forever and Vanderpump Dog Foundation, in hopes of giving a voice to end puppy pain.

And while there's no formula to create change, the X Factor winner's angelic vocals playing over images of suffering canines are definitely powerful enough to wake people up to this serious matter.

Available on iTunes on Friday, 100 percent of song's proceeds will go to ending dog torture globally!

Ch-ch-check out the inspirational video (below)!!!

Puppy Dies After Being Locked On An Apartment Balcony In 113-Degree Heat — Read The Disturbing Report!

Deplorable.

A Glendale, Arizona community is outraged after a puppy was found dead on an apartment balcony in extreme heat.

According to reports, Adrian Gonzalez left the 1-year-old Chocolate Lab outside on his balcony — without shade or water — on Sunday, when the high temperature registered at 113 degrees.

Neighbors heard the pup whimpering Sunday afternoon and saw it hopping around on its burned paws, so the police were called at around 3:40 p.m.

Unfortunately, no one was home when officials arrived, so they could not access the third-floor balcony. The fire department was then called to use their ladder to rescue the animal — but by that time, the dog had already died.

An animal medical technician came to the scene shortly after and tried to take the dog's temperature, but it was unreadable — since thermometers

Cincinnati Police Are Reviewing The Actions Of That Little Boy's Parents While Investigating Harambe The Gorilla's Death!

Get the deets HERE!

Could there be justice for Harambe the Gorilla?

On Saturday, the silverback gorilla was shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo after three-year-old Isiah Dickerson fell into the animal's enclosure.

Zoo director Thane Maynard explained that officials were concerned for the toddler's safety after the endangered animal began dragging him through the habitat, and defended the decision to put him down by arguing that tranquilizers don't go into effect immediately and would only make the large primate agitated.

But amid outcry over the animal's assassination, the Cincinnati PD has decided to look into the circumstances surrounding the ape's death, and they have their sights sets on Isiah's parents, Michelle Gregg and Deonne Dickerson!

Famous Primatologist Jane Goodall Responds To The Death Of Harambe The Gorilla!

Here's what Jane has to say.

Another expert is speaking out.

Over the weekend, celebrity zoologists Jack Hanna and Jeff Corwin opened up about the controversial killing of Harambe the Gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo on Saturday.

Zoo officials fatally shot the 17-year-old silverback gorilla after three-year-old Isiah Dickerson fell into his enclosure, and they began to fear for the kid's safety.

Video of the scary situation has since surfaced on the internet, showing the endangered animal dragging the toddler through the habitat as he ran around, but other shots portrayed the primate behaving protectively towards the youngster.

And even famed primatologist Jane Goodall noticed that Harambe didn't seem to be acting violently.

On Monday, the Jane Goodall Institue released an email that the 82-year-old sent to Cincinnati Zoo's director Thane Maynard on Sunday, and the UK native revealed that she doesn't believe the gorilla had any intention of harming the toddler, writing:

Cincinnati Police Are Currently Looking Into Harambe The Gorilla's Death… But Are They Targeting The Mom Or The Zoo?!

This case just keeps getting bigger.

We were deeply saddened back in 2015 when Dr. Walter Palmer was legally cleared for killing Cecil the Lion, but it seems like 2016 will be a much better year for animal rights.

That's because while another beautiful creature had to die, Harambe the Gorilla will most likely be getting justice after all!

Following Saturday's accident where a 3-year-old child fell into Harambe's enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo, we're hearing that local police are currently reviewing the animal's death to see if there's actually a case.

In fact, Cincinnati Police spokeswoman Tiffaney Hardy issued a statement to the press on Tuesday, saying:
