no title

Great apes gotta stick together!

Harambe the Gorilla has been pretty much the only thing we've been able to think about ever since he was killed when a 3-year-old boy fell into his enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo on Saturday afternoon.

While we've already heard from celebrity animal experts like Jack Hanna and Jeff Corwin, as well as animal rights advocates like Kaley Cuoco and Lisa Vanderpump, it looks like Donald Trump has volunteered to be the spokesperson for bigots on the subject.

The man often compared to an orangutan, follically speaking, defended the silverback in a press conference on Tuesday, and while he may not be a fan of Muslims or Mexicans… he's actually pretty humane when it comes to animals.

The racist Republican fell upon a rare moment of clarity while addressing reporters at Trump Towers, saying:

POLL: Mother Of Boy Who Fell Into Gorilla Exhibit Defends Her Parenting — But Is She To Blame For Harambe's Death?

no title

We can't stop thinking about this story!

As you've probably heard by now, a gorilla named Harambe was killed on Saturday after a 3-year-old boy fell into his exhibit at the Cincinnati Zoo.

While animal experts have already stated that the zoo had no other choice since the child was in immediate danger, the mother at the center of the controversy is now sharing her side of the story!

Michelle Greggs has taken a lot of the blame for Harambe's tragic murder, but she decided to stick up for herself on Facebook over the weekend, saying:

"I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers today. What started off as a wonderful day turned into a scary one. For those of you that have seen the news or been on social media that was my son that fell in the gorilla exhibit at the zoo. God protected my child until the authorities were able to get him. My son is safe and was able to walk away with a concussion and a few scrapes…no broken bones or internal injuries. As a society we are quick to judge how a parent could take their eyes off of their child and if anyone knows me I keep a tight watch on my kids. Accidents happen but I am thankful that the right people were in the right place today. Thank you to everyone that helped me and my son today and most importantly God for being the awsome [sic] God that He is."

That doesn't make any sense. We get that it was a mistake, but she definitely WASN'T watching her kid when this happened!

Also, not even a single word honoring the animal that lost its life. No wonder she deleted the post; the comments must have been brutal!

Do U think the #HarambeMom deserves to be vilified??

We still can't believe this all really happened.

As you may have seen, officials at the Cincinnati Zoo were forced to kill a rare, 17-year-old silverback gorilla on Saturday after a 3-year-old boy fell into its habitat.

Harambe was unfortunately shot and killed in order to protect the boy, and may animal lovers are blaming the zoo for not first trying to use tranquilizer darts.

However, many animal experts are actually coming forward to defend the Ohio facility for saving the child's life, including celebrity zoologists Jack Hanna and Jeff Corwin!

Rare Gorilla Shot And Killed By Zookeepers To Protect Four-Year-Old Boy That Climbed Into His Enclosure

no title

This is awful.

Officials at the Cincinnati Zoo were forced to shoot and kill a rare 400-pound western lowland gorilla after a four-year-old boy climbed through a railing and fell into a moat in the animal's enclosure on Saturday.

The gorilla — named Harambe — wasn't directly attacking the child, but officials still felt that for the child's safety, it was the most important thing to take out the gorilla to save the little boy.

Harambe, who had turned seventeen years old on Friday, was dragging the boy around the enclosure, and officials believe that even though he wasn't attacking the child — and the gorilla encountered the kid through no fault of its own, of course — something bad could have happened.

Thayne Maynard, the zoo's director, told reporters that they interpreted Harambe's movements as threatening, saying:

"It's a sad day all around. They made a tough choice and they made the right choice, because they saved that little boy's life. It could have been very bad … all sorts of things could happen."

Social media users from all over snapped video of the incident, including some — that do not show the fatal shot being fired — below:
