As you may recall, earlier this week, shocking footage leaked of a frightened German Shepherd being forced into a pool of water on the film's set. This upsetting incident obviously resulted in the famed animal rights organization to call for a boycott of the Dennis Quaid-starring family movie!

Since the company and distributor, Universal Pictures, are looking into the matter, it only seems right that they are hitting a pause button on the celebration and press junket for the film. In a recent statement, Amblin Entertainment explained:

A Dog's Purpose

We had a feeling this was coming…

Yesterday, TMZ published a chilling clip capturing an animal trainer shoving a visibly frightened German Shepherd named Hercules into a pool full of water that was being churned by EIGHT motors on the set of A Dog's Purpose.

In a swift response from PETA, the animal rights' organization is calling for a boycott of the movie "in order to send the message that dogs and other animals should be treated humanely, not as movie props."

This is NOT okay.

With just about a week until A Dog's Purpose's theatrical release, new footage has surfaced that is sure to keep animal lovers from seeing the film.

TMZ obtained footage from the flick's production in November 2015, which shows one of the pups being forced into terrifyingly turbulent water to film a scene in Winnipeg, Canada.

The chilling clip captures an animal trainer shoving a visibly frightened German Shepherd into a pool full of water that was being churned by EIGHT motors.

The pup was so opposed to getting into the recreated river that it clawed at the edge of the pool the entire way in.

What's even scarier is that the pooch actually went under at one point. And while we don't know if the script called for the animal to be submerged, we could hear someone repeatedly yell:

SeaWorld Finally Ends Controversial Killer Whale Show — But Is The 'Educational' Replacement 'Orca Encounters' Any Better?

no title

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Two days after the tragic death of SeaWorld's famed whale Tilikum on Friday, the theme park put on its FINAL Shamu show.

As we previously reported, SeaWorld faced immense backlash following the release of animal rights documentary Blackfish, an exposé which revealed the dangers of breeding and keeping whales in captivity. The park has since faced immense public pressure, dropping ticket sales, and a decreased fan base.

Now it looks like the company is trying to make good on their promise to improve the lives of their beloved orcas… or are they?

According to SeaWorld, a replacement program called "Orca Encounters" (set to debut this summer) will be a less flashy and "education-based" experience depicting the "natural behaviors" of killer whales.

What a sad day for those who adored Tilikum.

On Friday morning, SeaWorld made the unfortunate announcement that the beloved and infamous orca had passed away at age 36 from a "complicated bacterical infection" in his lungs.

Fans first learned the sea creature was ill in spring of 2016.

As we previously reported, Tilikum was at the center of the anti-SeaWorld documentary Blackfish, which exposed the cruelties of capturing and raising killer whales in captivity. The unfortunate orca was the perfect subject as he was captured off the coast of Iceland in 1983 and had lived in marine parks ever since.

The moving doc also honed in on the death of Dawn Brancheau, a trainer at the park who died after Tilikum pulled her under the water and fatally drowned her during a live performance. The tragedy spurred SeaWorld to ban trainers from performing with orcas as well as a national conversation on poaching whales from the wild for entertainment purposes.

In the statement announcing Tilikum's death, SeaWorld also mentioned Dawn, writing:

Animal Serial Killer's Death Toll Rises To 17… And Officials Are Scared Humans Are Next!

no title

This is straight up sociopathic!

17 animals have been found dead by scalpel in Canada over the past year, and authorities are starting to think the serial killer could upgrade to human targets soon.

Throughout 2016, nearly a dozen and half animals — including coyotes, snakes, rabbits, geese, dogs, and cats — have been found mutilated in public places around London, Ontario, with their blood drained and their organs professionally removed.

While the killer was mostly only attacking wild animals at first, a headless dog was found skinned outside a beer store last Friday… which, in addition to a cat carcass located alongside the Thames River recently, means he's officially going after domestic animals as well.

But to make things even worse, Judy Foster, executive director of London Human Society, believes this crime spree could have started TWO years ago when the animal rights organization received a skinned goose at their front door!

Judy spoke with London Free Press about the serial killings on Wednesday, saying:
