This is so ahmayzing!!

A farmer in western Kentucky, Bland Hardison, had an interesting part of his will.

When he died, a whopping $225,000 was to be distributed evenly to every government run animal shelter in the state!!

And in the most random news of the whole day…

Billy Corgan, lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins, doesn't normally live his life in the spotlight.

But that didn't stop him from filming a commercial for Chicago furniture giant, Walter E. Smithe.

What's extra random about this is that Billy owns a wrestling company Resistance Pro and got to use his wrestlers in the commercial!

He did the ad in exchange for a $50,000 donation to Chicago's largest no-kill shelter, PAWS.

He said:

"I can honestly say that if it had been anybody else in the country outside of Chicago… I probably wouldn’t have done it."

He's from Chicago and must really love his town!

Carrie Underwood is an Oklahoma gurl through and through and she just loves the animals there too!

The singer visited her hometown animal shelter in Checotah, OK and she tweeted the following message as she surrounded herself in kitty cuties!

Hanging out at the Checotah animal shelter! Anyone want a kitten? I think we have a few!!! Ha ha!

While she left the shelter without a pet, the shelter is always grateful for Carrie's visits.

Someone adopt these cuties!!!! STAT!

A lovely Arkansas women who had taken it upon herself to feed a colony of 15 feral cats was devastated when she found seven of them dead from gunshot wounds!!

One had even been shot in the eyes and left to wander around blind until it slowly died.

WTF!!!

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) has recently announced that it is going to team up with Rachel Ray for the 2012 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge!

The challenge will have more than $500,000 in prize grants that will go to shelters to help save more homeless cats and dogs.

The challenge is a contest that tries to get shelters across the country to find new ways to involve and engage their communities to try and get as many dogs and cats saved as possible.

The winner will receive $100,000 if they are the one who saves the most lives during the three-month run of the contest.

Second place will win $25,000 and other organizations will have a chance at getting between $5,000 and $40,000 in other grants.

Jennifer Aniston has adopted a new puppy named Sophie!

The puppy is the cutest little pit bull mix.

She explained how she has a friend who worked at an animal shelter who called her when a box of puppies showed up on the doorstep.

"They were left in a box in front of a shelter – so heartbreaking. So we ran over.

Sophie came right up to us. That was sort of a big indicator – they choose you."

She then explained why the dog's name is Sophie.

"We were [at the shelter] for three hours. I was almost walking out with three puppies. That's why we named her Sophie, because it was [like] Sophie's Choice. I was crying – it was so hard."

Well we're glad you decided to rescue a dog.

Check out this HIGHlarious news story from Melbourne, Australia, where an unidentified goat that caused a bit of chaos when it appeared outside of the local zoo and shot in and out of traffic, only to be apprehended by police officers after A FOUR HOUR chase (above)!

The strangest part yet? Nobody knows where it came from, as Melbourne Zoo claims that none of its animals have escaped, and goats are not even kept in captivity there!

So yeah - whomever let their goat run wild better go to the animal shelter and pick it up!
