Poor Brandy.

The singer recently opened up about the multiple eating disorders she suffered from as a teen.

Having the pressure of being a teen star, she says she became obsessed with becoming thin.

On her VH1 Behind the Music special, Brandy says:

We had no idea people actually did this but apparently it happens enough that Instagram had to take action.

We're talking about Instagrams that promote eating disorders and other self-destructive behaviors.

It was allegedly getting to be such a problem that the photo-sharing social networking site released a statement:

"Don’t promote or glorify self-harm: While Instagram is a place where people can share their lives with others through photographs, any account found encouraging or urging users to embrace anorexia, bulimia, or other eating disorders; or to cut, harm themselves, or commit suicide will result in a disabled account without warning.

We believe that communication regarding these behaviors in order to create awareness, come together for support and to facilitate recovery is important, but that Instagram is not the place for active promotion or glorification of self-harm."

It seems that all of that should go without saying but we guess there are some confused people out there.

We feel like if someone is using Instagram to share photos that promote self-destruction, then it may be more a cry for help than some sadistic attempt to harm others.

We feel so bad for anyone who feels the need to have an account like that and hope that if they get their Instagram account disabled it'll be a small wake up call to change their lives.

Supermodel Natalia Vodianova is on the defensive after the media misconstrued her "it's better to be skinny than fat" comment she made last weekend.

As most celebrities tend to do, the Russian beauty posted an explanation on Facebook and she had A LOT to say.

Natalia writes:

I guess the reaction of the press is expected to be negative when I said it's better to be skinny then to be fat at the Vogue Festival this past weekend. However on the background of arriving from China where most people leave under the poverty line and have to share food and watch how much they eat to survive and on the background of how I grew up where sometimes I had to skip meals so there would be food for my little disabled sister and that feeling of missing bread so much some days because on some days we had no money to buy any (reason I had ulcers as little girl was constant irregular eating) could give an explanation why I felt moved to give another prospective on this issue.

Evanna Lynch, the actress who played Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, wrote a letter to JK Rowling before she had ever been cast in the film.

As we previously mentioned, she was struggling with anorexia and reached out to Rowling for help.

Rowling actually responded to the letter and it really stuck with Lynch.

A positive step in the right direction!

Israel passed legislation on Monday night that makes it illegal to use models that fall below an 18.5 BMI in advertising or publication, making it the first country to do so.

To prove their weight, models will need to provide an up-to-date medical report (no older than three months) at any and all Israeli market shoots.

Not only that, but businesses utilizing Photoshop to make models appear thinner will be forced to include a clearly written notice on the photo.
