Her movie may be doing great, but Michelle Williams' AnOther magazine cover seemingly mimicking traditional Native American dress is stirring the controversy pot!
Several different outlets have accused the cover of being offensive to Native Americans, particularly because the actress has two long dark brown braids and wears a feathered necklace.
And though the pic is in black and white, there is an unmistakable ruddiness to the cheeks, which many feel depicts "Redface."
Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain landed another magazine cover — literally.
With her pretty red hair piled on top of her head, The Help star graces AnOther's spring issue and talks about fame and fear.
Here are some HIGHlights:
On falling flat on her face:
"This has been a scary year … a wonderful year. But my life is changing and I don't know what it means. All year I've been afraid of falling flat on my face, physically and metaphorically. At Cannes, everyone kept talking about the stairs. Oh my gosh, I was convinced: I'm going to trip on those stairs."
On her looks:
"I'm not the normal idea of what a gorgeous woman is. I don't look modern."
On her career:
"I knew I was going to be an actor … But I would be really happy doing plays off Broadway for hardly any money. There's nothing about me that makes you think, 'movie star'. I'm just this normal girl."
