There's a new iPhone app called Puppytime, and it sounds totally cute.

Basically, it sends you three pictures of cute dogs and puppies per day.

A new app called KITTY! allows you to have a digital cat, with lifelike fur movement.

Yes, you can pet it and it looks like it's really being pet.

It also purs and claws and sleeps and does all those other things cats do. (Like sleeps some more.)

Apple has released a new iPad App dedicated to the "Ultimate Sharks."

PETA has unveiled its own iPhone app as a way to counteract the animal cruelty expressed in an Android app formally known as "Dog Wars."

The nasty app, made by Kage Games and found on the Android Market, touted itself as a way to train virtual pit bulls to fight other dogs and pick up "street cred" along the way.

The game upset everyone - from the head of the LAPD police officers union to Michael Vick!

PETA unveiled its own iPhone app last week that highlights stories about animal cruelty, inviting users to share the details on Facebook and Twitter and take action by sending letters of protest to politicians, corporate executives, and other officials.

The app also enables people to donate money to the cause through PETA's mobile Web site.
