SeaWorld Doesn't Want Its Killer Whale Trainers Federally Protected From A Gruesome Death!!!

killer whales federal government bars close contact with trainers seaworld objects orcas free wily blackfish death Tilikum

Everyone is entitled to their day in court!!!

Even companies like SeaWorld who oppose current federal regulations that protect trainers from deadly orcas!

Killer whales like Tilikum have been living up to their name for years, but when SeaWorld Orlando trainer Dawn Brancheau was killed on the job in 2010 the government finally decided end the madness.

After an investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration concluded working conditions for whale trainers were simply too unsafe, the government barred close contact with these potentially dangerous creatures without some sort of barrier in between.

While this is good news for the friends, family, and children of current trainers who don't want to see their loved ones maimed or killed, it was apparently bad news for SeaWorld stockholders as it cramped the style of the Shamu-esque whale show so many ticket-goers paid to see.

Much like getting your fingerprints taken and saved on file, if you are arrested for a felony your DNA will be saved too.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled in a 2-1 decision that a 2004 California law requiring officials to collect DNA samples of criminals is constitutional because it is not an unreasonable search.

Since DNA evidence can be used to solve crimes, Judge Milan Smith wrote:

Eminem Wins Royalty Lawsuit

Eminem's gonna get paid!

A federal appeals court has found that Eminem's former production company F.B.T Productions LLC is entitled to royalties by Universal Music Group (UMG) for music downloaded over iTunes or sold as cellphone ringtones.

Last year, a federal jury ruled against F.B.T., however, the appeals court ruled on Friday that the contracts between UMG and F.B.T. "unambiguously applies to permanent downloads and master-tones," which entitles Eminem and his producers to a 50-50 split for recordings licensed to iTunes and other digital distributors.

This ruling could potentially affect how record labels and artists make financial deals in the future. Very inneresting!

Judge Overturns Ruling! Mattel No Longer Granted Rights To Bratz Dolls

A federal appeals court has thrown out U.S. District Judge Stephen Larson's decision to grant Mattel ownership of the Bratz dolls.

"It is not equitable to transfer this billion dollar brand — the value of which is overwhelmingly the result of MGA's legitimate efforts — because it may have started with two misappropriated names," said Chief Judge Alex Kozinski.

He added that the case, which included a $100 million verdict for Mattel in 2008, may require a new trial.

Mattel is looking forward to a "full trial" where they can address their claims against MGA Entertainment Inc.

"Unlike the relatively demure Barbie, the urban, multi-ethnic and trendy Bratz dolls have attitude," Kozinski added. "America thrives on competition; Barbie, the all-American girl, will too."
