Archie Opens Up About "Leaving" His Label

Last week, we reported that David Archuleta was dropped from Jive Records after the sales of his last album were less than stellar, to say the least.

At the time, we felt really bad for him, but considering he's so young, we also felt like that being set free from the label might also open him up to create new music without their involvement. Apparently, Archie agrees with us as he's posted a YouTube video, explaining his side of the story of what went down with Jive.

Take a listen to David talk about his "decision" and how its going to affect his career from now on. (above)

So grown up. He's really taking this massive change in stride. Good for him!

Archie Comics Gets Political With Obama Vs. Palin Issue

Even Archie Comics get into politics!

On the cover of the new Archie Comic #616 released on Wednesday, President Obama and Sarah Palin are shown sharing a milkshake together in an issue centering around Archie and his long-time rival Reggie as they battle it out for student-body president.

In the comic, Archie and his girlfriend Veronica are depicted as Obama supporters as they are showing talking environmental issues with the president.

Meanwhile, Reggie is seen as a Palin fan, as he gets his picture taken with the former VP nominee and current reality show star.

As Obama and Palin are showed sharing a milkshake, Archie can be seen in the background, exclaiming, "Wow! I guess anything's possible!"

Very cool. Seems like the old-fashioned comic is trying to become more contemporary.

Oh, Archie! You silly little gay boy!

Check out (above) this HIGHlarious Q&A session with the 19 year old American Idol star in which he admits that he thinks holding hands is "gross" - despite having a track called My Hands!

Aww! Poor thing!

Who does he think he's kidding?

Completely Gratuitous

Leave it to our little Archie!

He always seems to manage to come off as completely asexual, but somehow adorable at the same time!

The singer made an appearance at the 2010 US Open Arthur Ashe KidsDay at the USTA Billie Jean King National TennisCenter yesterday, and we don't know if it's the bashful little smile or the Dennis the Menace inspired outfit, but we think he's just the sweetest little thing, isn't he?

LOLs!

Don't ever change, bb!

Archie Comics Introduce Gay Character To Series!!

Even Archie is getting with the times!

The classic comic book is introducing its first openly gay character, named Kevin Keller, in the upcoming issue Isn't It Bromantic? - and the only conflict he faces is whether or not to tell an interested Veronica that she's not his type!

Lovely!

Says the cartoonist, Dan Parent:

"In the last year or two, we've been introducing a lot of new characters: Diverse characters, characters with different ethnicities. With trying to be diverse, we wanted to have everybody at the table. We knew at some point we wanted to introduce a gay character, and when I came up with the story idea, we felt it worked in context with this story. They just like watching Veronica making a fool of herself, trying to get this guy to like her. At the beginning of the book, Kevin tells Jughead first that he's gay. And Kevin feels kind of bad and wants to tell Veronica why he's not interested. But Jughead keeps saying, 'No, you should wait to tell her,' because he's enjoying watching Veronica's antics. Jughead's got a mind of his own. I think he'd be the first person to be accepting of a gay character. The story is very much in the true context of our Archie stories. It's Veronica being Veronica. The fact that there's a gay character in the story isn't a big deal to the characters. We didn't do something with turmoil. The guy just happens to be gay, and the characters accept it, and that's it. My daughter has openly gay kids in her high school and it's accepted. Obviously this isn't the case everywhere in the country. There are struggles that gay people have. But gay kids in high schools isn't the big deal it used to be, and we want to reflect the way being gay is accepted in today's society. We're trying to show that Riverdale is an accepting community, that everyone is welcome in Riverdale. We're trying to show that Riverdale is that ideal town that everybody wants to be a part of."

Well spoken and 100% true!

We think it's wonderful that they would introduce a gay character in such a natural and effortless manner!

What do U think?? Are U interested to see how Kevin fits with the rest of the Riverdale gang??
