The Silver Linings Playbook star was just one of the highly celebrated guests at The Hollywood Reporter's Oscars soiree Tuesday night, which also hosted other A-Listers such as Ben Affleck.

The initially low-key event reportedly began with celebs milling about congratulating each other on their fabulousness…

Until Snoop Snoopay Doop — DJ name Snoopadelic — turned the shindig into a regular RAGER when he laid sown some SICK beatz after publicly praising Ben for his work on Argo!

Well, we think it's safe to say that the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences must be kicking themselves right now!

And if they're not, they SHOULD be!

Because after being NOTICEABLY snubbed from the "Best Director" category of the upcoming Academy Awards for his truly magnificent work on Argo, Ben Affleck was named outstanding director for the flick at the 65th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards last night in El Lay, beating out Kathryn Bigelow for Zero Dark Thirty, Tom Hooper for Les Miserables, Ang Lee for Life of Pi and Steven Spielberg for Lincoln!

But what's most telling - at least to us - about the win is that it marks the THIRD time since the DGA Awards started in 1948 that its 15,000 members have voted in this category for a nominee that has been up for the Oscar!

Frankly, between this and the Golden Globe, we're just glad to see that he's being recognized for his outstanding work!

It's MORE than deserved, Ben!

And we think VERY telling of how the Academy might vote for your flick in the categories for which it HAS been nominated!

But only time will confirm that!

Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Alan Arkin, and more were honored with the award for Outstanding Ensemble Cast In A Motion Picture, the top prize at the 2013 SAG Awards!

After a week long debate over whether or not the Oscars snubbed Ben Affleck — they did, bee tee dubs — the actor/director/Adonis must feel sooooo relieved!

Not only did the Golden Globes nominate the impressive director for his work on Argo, but they declared him the victor, too!!

He bested the most accomplished auteurs in the biz, beating out Kathryn Bigelow, Ang Lee, Quentin Tarantino, and the legendary Steven Spielberg!

We are so impressed, Benny boy!
