Tim McGraw Speaks Out On Bullying

While speaking to Grassland Middle School in Franklin, TN, Tim McGraw did he best to explain to students how bullying can affect people and escalate beyond their control.

"He was bullied to death," said Tim of the late Asher Brown.

The singer was invited to speak at the school school rally by his 11-year-old nephew, Jace Jewell, a sixth-grader. And it was obvious that McGraw went beyond his comfort zone to give the speech.

"It's not really my forte," said Tim after the assembly. "But after Jace asked me to come and speak about this, I got some of my talking points together. I think it's important for the students to hear. Anything I can do to stop bullying is what I'll do."

Amazing!

DanRad Has A Message For Gay Youth!

This means quite a bit, coming from him!

Daniel Radcliffe, who has long been an avid supporter of LGTB rights, is the latest to speak out against in response to the recent string of gay teens committing suicides, and is begging confused and troubled young people to reach out to someone before it's too late!

He says in a statement:

"Learning about the suicide deaths of Tyler Clementi, Seth Walsh, Asher Brown, Billy Lucas and Justin Aaberg has been heartbreaking for me. These young people were bullied and tormented by people that should have been their friends. We have a responsibility to be better to each other, and accept each others' differences regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ability, or religion and stand up for someone when they're bullied. When a friend is feeling depressed or says they're thinking of killing themselves, we must take it seriously and get them help. My deepest sympathies go out to the families and friends of these excellent young people. And to all the young people who are being bullied right now, you are not alone. Call the Trevor Lifeline at 866 4-U-TREVOR, because there's always someone there who will listen and who can help."

Click (above) to watch a clip of the actor discussing his involvement with the Trevor Project, which is an AMAZING resource if you're confused about your feelings and don't know where to turn!

Thanks for the words, bb! Such an inspiring young man!

It gets better!!! Please don't forget that!

ANOTHER Student From Asher Brown's School District Victimized For Supposed Sexual Orientation, School Officials Did NOTHING!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GaySad Sad

This is just shameful.

Check out (above) a news report about Jayron Martin, a student from Cy Fair ISD Texas, the same school district as recent suicide victim Asher Brown.

Martin claims that last year, he was also the targeted by bullies because of his sexuality, and although he also alerted school officials, nobody intervened and he was eventually beaten up.

Absolutely unacceptable! We are completely disgusted!

How many young people have to be injured, or worse - lose their lives - before these people take action and protect their students?!

Texas Teen Kills Himself After Years Of Gay Bullying

Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GayR.I.P.Sad Sad

This is just awful. Our heart truly breaks for this poor family.

An eighth grade boy in Texas killed himself last week after years of bullying from his peers over his suspected sexuality.

Asher Brown's family claims that he was "bullied to death," and that although they addressed their concerns with his school, Hamilton Middle School, administration did not intervene.

School district spokeswoman Kelli Durham claims, however, that they received no bullying complaints from the family nor any students.

His mother and stepfather, Amy and David Truong say:

"We want justice. That's absolutely inaccurate — it's completely false. I did not hallucinate phone calls to counselors and assistant principals. We have no reason to make this up. … It's like they're calling us liars. The people here need to be held responsible and to be stopped. It did happen. There are witnesses everywhere. Our son is just the extreme case of what happens when (someone is) just relentless."

The bullying of Brown allegedly went on for over two years, and escalated the day before his suicide when he was pushed down a flight of stairs and had his book bag kicked open.

The following morning, Brown revealed to his stepfather that he was indeed gay, and although Truong "didn't condemn," that didn't stop the teen from using a 9mm Beretta to end his life later on during the day. He didn't leave a note.

Truong says to her son's bullies:

"I hope you're happy with what you've done. I hope you got what you wanted and you're just real satisfied with yourself."

This story leaves a massive pit in our stomach. That poor kid.

We sincerely pray that this teen's story will force others to stop and think before they put someone else down for something as petty as sexual preference. NOBODY should feel less worthwhile than ANYONE ELSE, especially over that.

And for any young people who feel confused, alone, and picked on over feelings that they probably don't even have a full grasp on yet, PLEASE try to keep your head held high and stay brave. We PROMISE you that it's not an easy journey, but you will get there, and be all the better for it in the long run! You will meet people who will LOVE you and ACCEPT you, just as you are, and you will be MILES beyond all of the people who once made you feel like there was something wrong with you.

Just be patient! It GETS BETTER.

Our deepest condolences to Brown's family and loved ones.
