ESPN Withheld Audio Tape Incriminating Bernie Fine For 8 Years!

ESPN Withheld bernie Fine tape

After all the smack ESPN talked against Penn State for covering up the Jerry Sandusky scandal, the sports channel may have found themselves in their own little cover up!

ESPN aired a secretly recorded phone conversation between Laurie Fine, the wife of fired Syracuse assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine, and one of his victims, which indicted VERY clear wrongdoing on the coach's part.

After the channel aired the disturbing tape recorded by Bobby Davis, a former ball boy for the college team, Syracuse immediately fired Fine.

ESPN's victory against child molestation, however, may be short lived because it turns out that they had the tape in their possession for nearly 8 years since it was recorded in 2002.

Syracuse Assistant Basketball Coach Accused Of Molesting Two Boys

Bernie Fine molestation allegations

On the heels of the awful Jerry Sandusky sex scandal at Penn State, in which he has been charged with 40 counts of child sexual abuse, another assistant college coach's perverted past has been revealed!

Bernie Fine, an assistant basketball coach at Syracuse University in his 35th season, is under investigation by police for allegedly molesting a boy in the 1980s and 90s!

Bobby Davis, a former ball boy for the team who is now 39, came forward with the accusations in 2003 that Fine had sexually abused him not only at his house, but at Syracuse basketball facilities and on team road trips like their trip to the 1987 Final Four.

Yuck!

Multiple news sources, including ESPN, attempted to unveil the truth in 2003 while the school performed a full investigation in 2005, but the claims were ultimately dismissed because no other witnesses could corroborate Davis' story.

Now, however, a SECOND victim has stepped forward after being inspired by the PSU incident.

Syracuse has placed the coach on administrative leave "in light of the new allegations" while the Syracuse City Police perform an investigation.

Head coach Jim Boeheim has his long time collaborator's back and believes Fine is innocent until proven guilty, saying:

"This matter was fully investigated by the university in 2005 and it was determined that the allegations were unfounded. I have known Bernie Fine for more than 40 years. I have never seen or witnessed anything to suggest that he would been involved in any of the activities alleged. Had I seen or suspected anything, I would have taken action. Bernie has my full support."

At least it appears as if the university handled the situation properly. Unfortunately at the time of their four-month investigation there was not enough evidence against fine since people the accuser said would support his allegations "denied any knowledge of wrongful conduct."

It looks like people have finally been inspired to do the right thing and speak up before this possible predator has a chance to hurt more innocent children!
