James Holmes has been found guilty on all counts of Murder in the First Degree for the 12 people that he shot and killed during his July 20, 2012 shooting spree.
The news comes out of Centennial, CO after the 27-year-old's jury deliberated for 13 hours following his lawyers' attempts to plead insanity.
There are a total of 165 charges against James for his rampage during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, CO, including 12 deaths and 70 injuries.
While a dozen people were murdered, James has actually been found guilty of two counts of First Degree Murder for each victim; one with Extreme Indifference and one after deliberation.
Colorado has not had an execution since 1997, but now that James is in the sentencing part of his trial, he could be the first case in nearly two decades.
It's taken almost three years for the victims' families to finally get closure, but our thoughts are certainly with them now.
