Merlin Movie On Its Way!
With the Harry Potter series coming to a close, we take comfort knowing that wizards will return to the big screen!
Working Title is currently developing a Merlin film, based on a pitch by screenwriter/author Jay Basu, which will bring the legendary wizard into a contemporary setting.
Innerestingly enough, this film will NOT be the first time that Merlin has been placed in a modern setting.
There was a short-lived sitcom in 1981, Mr. Merlin, in which the wizard worked as an auto mechanic in San Francisco.
Sounds like a pretty strange show to us!
We'll be curious to see how they put Merlin into a contemporary setting, but we don't think we'd be too excited to watch him using his magic to fix up old cars.
