At least one person has been killed after a shooter opened fire near a California polling place on Tuesday.
According to the Azusa Police Department, a suspect killed one person and injured three others in a residential area near Memorial Park Recreation Center, which is a polling place in this year's election.
The incident is no longer active, as the APD took to Twitter to explain it has developed into a barricade and containment situation, after the shooter holed up inside a house.
Police say the attacker is a female, armed with an assault rifle. Authorities say they also received a report of a possible second suspect, a man supposedly dressed in tactical gear.
During a press conference streamed on Facebook Live, Acting Chief of Police Captain Steve Hunt confirmed three people had been shot.
Two have been transported to a local hospital, while the third died from their injuries.
Captain Hunt also explained there is a fourth person "down" at a front door in the neighborhood, but he doesn't know if that injured individual had been shot, or their condition.
In the wake of the shooting, the cops have locked down Slauson Middle School, Mountain View Elementary School, and Memorial Park.
At the time of this posting, both schools are being evacuated, while everyone at Mountain View has been evacuated and deemed safe.
