Nike Goes Back For The Future

Doc is back!

Christopher Lloyd resumes his iconic role as Doc Brown for this HIGHlarious short film that promotes Nike's 2011 Nike MAG, a recreation of their shoe featured in Back to the Future II.

Nike is auctioning off 1500 pairs of the shoe to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research. They don't power lace yet (check back in 2015), but it's still awesome to own a piece of film history, while supporting a great cause!

Although the auction started on September 8th, there are still 600 pairs left! Want yours? Click here to find out how to get them!

NBA star Kevin Durant co-stars along with Saturday Night Live's Bill Hader in the short. Do yourself a favor and check it out above!

Is Nike Taking Us Back To The Future 4 Years Early???

Get ready for a BIG announcement from Nike!

After a year of speculation, the athletic company is holding a press conference tonight in Hollywood where they are expected to unveil Marty McFly's self-lacing shoes.

Those who were invited to the big event were called at midnight and flown to El Lay TODAY. When they arrived to their hotel rooms, a box was waiting in the room along with a recorded message from Doc Brown on an iPod shuffle. The message said:

“Welcome to Los Angeles. If my calculations are correct, over the next 24 hours you are about to see some SERIOUS SH*T!”

Ha!

Inside the box was the actual invite, which read "IT’S ABOUT TIME…an unveiling that could change the course of time" along with a pair metal shield glasses.

Nike also left some mid 80′s candy, a throwback Pepsi and a copy of Back To The Future.

Inneresting.

Stay tuned…

Disney Drops Yellow Submarine

Zemeckis Loses Disney For Submarine

Don't worry, though, because it might not be the end of the project.

Disney has dropped Robert Zemeckis' Yellow Submarine, and he's now free to shop the project elsewhere.

Here are some possible reasons why:

Submarine was already facing a few rocky reefs before this weekend. There were budget issues, and a key presentation Zemeckis was to have made before the Beatles heirs kept being pushed back. A December date for the confab was scrapped and never rescheduled. But sources say the disastrous $6.9 million opening for the $150 million-budgeted Mars, produced by Zemeckis, guaranteed that Submarine would never set sail at Disney.

After the news he headed to Montana to regroup, which we don't know if that means to find a new home for Yellow Submarine or choose something else to work on.

While we think it's kind of a neat idea to re-envision Yellow Submarine, we weren't huge fans of Zemeckis' last few movies, and we're not sure if the mo-cap animation itself is solely to blame or if Robert has just lost touch with his talent for a few years because of the animation obsession (and he IS talented, Back to the Future, anyone?).

We'll just have to wait and see!

Are U disappointed that Yellow Submarine has been sunk?

Stephen King Takes On JFK Assassination In New Novel!

new stephen king novel on the way

This is a REALLY interesting premise, and we can already imagine it as a movie!

In Stephen King's new novel, which comes out on Nov 8th, a thirty-five year old high school English teacher travels through time on a mission to prevent the JFK assassination.

It seems kind of like Back to the Future, only the stakes are MUCH higher! Cool!

Wanna hear more about the book? Check out the full synopsis AFTER THE JUMP!
