Federal Judge Blocks President Obama's Move To Make All Public School Bathrooms Transgender-Friendly

no title

Way to represent, Texas…

As you probably remember, North Carolina became the laughingstock of the United States earlier this year when it tried to implement a series of bigoted bathroom bills aimed at the transgender community.

While most Americans condemned N.C. for its treatment of its LGBT citizens, we're sad to say yet another state is currently discriminating against trans individuals.

Apparently, President Barack Obama issued a ruling back in May that would make it so every public school had to allow its students to use the bathroom and locker room that matched with their gender identity.

However, Texas Judge Reed O'Connor took it upon himself to block Obama's move late Sunday evening, and we're hearing 13 states have now banded together to sue the Education and Justice Departments over their trans-friendly law.

Basically, as it stands now, public schools

Way to go, NBA!

The NBA has had enough of North Carolina's anti-LGBT bullsh*t!

On Thursday, the Association announced that it will NOT be hosting the 2017 All-Star Game at Charlotte's Time Warner Cable Arena because of the state's controversial bathroom bill.

This comes less than a week after NC's lawmakers had a chance to change up HB2 — which notably forces transgender individuals to use the bathrooms associated with their biological sex, rather than the gender with which they identify — but instead left the law intact.

And now, Commissioner Adam Silver has had enough.

In a new statement, the NBA explained that they can't wait any longer for the awful legislation to change, saying:

"The NBA has decided to relocate the 2017 All-Star Game from Charlotte with the hope of rescheduling for 2019. Since March, when North Carolina enacted HB2 and the issue of legal protections for the LGBT community in Charlotte became prominent, the NBA and the Charlotte Hornets have been working diligently to foster constructive dialogue and try to effect positive change. We have been guided in these discussions by the long-standing core values of our league. These include not only diversity, inclusion, fairness and respect for others but also the willingness to listen and consider opposing points of view."

The basketball league also explained that the discriminatory bill does not uphold the NBA's values:

Too little, too late??

In the year since Caitlyn Jenner announced her true identity, the transgender icon hasn't exactly been the best representative for the LGBT community… or even an alright one, for that matter.

Luckily, it seems as though the dozens of conversations she's had with her I Am Cait friends castmates are finally starting to get through to her, because she actually spoke some truth at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday!

While she wasn't invited to any RNC events — because trans, duh — Caitlyn was able to speak outside Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena at an American Unity Fund brunch where she actually called out the GOP for spreading their own bigoted beliefs when they have a worse history with bathroom behavior, saying:

Donald Trump Spoke With Caitlyn Jenner Days After Meeting With Anti-LGBT Religious Groups — So Where DOES He Stand On The Bathroom Bill?!

Over the past year, Donald Trump has said A TON of ridiculous and contradictory things.

But it looks like the politician might actually have to take a hard stance on that whole bathroom bill!

As you're probably aware, back in March, North Carolina's Governor Pat McCrory signed the EXTREMELY controversial law which ultimately prevents a transgender man or woman from using the correct bathroom for the gender they identify with.

Many celebrities and politicians have already come out against the idiotic bill, but The Donald has somewhat remained on the fence — and it sounds like Caitlyn Jenner is okay with it!

Sure, we know Cait used Trump's bathroom in Trump Tower, but NOW we've learned the reality star actually met with the candidate shortly after

South Dakota Senate Passes 'Bathroom Bill' Which Unfairly Targets Transgender Students

We just hope this gets vetoed!

On Tuesday, the South Dakota Senate passed a bill that requires high school students to use restrooms based on their "chromosomes and anatomy" at birth.

This measure is seen as discriminatory towards the transgender community as it forces students to use facilities that do not match their gender. This act could lead to more prejudice and intolerance.

Proponents of the bill argue that this is necessary to protect children's privacy.

The measure passed with a vote of 20-15, and was previously approved in the State House of Representatives.

Governor Dennis Daugaard has five days to veto the bill, or else it will become law.

According to Mara Keisling from The National Center for Transgender Equality:

"This bill hurts transgender students, takes away control from local schools, and doesn't solve any problems. In fact, it does more harm than good to both trans kids and South Dakota's reputation."

We're confident South Dakota will make the right decision.
