Kim Basinger Wants To Keep Beluga Whales From Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium wants Russia to send 18 beluga whales to them for breeding.

This does NOT sit well with Kim Basinger and PETA!!!

The actress has sent a letter to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association to dissuade the organization to deny the aquarium their permit request.

Baby Beluga Whale Dies From Cancer

Sad….we know a lot of people grew up to this song.

Canadian singer Raffi Cavoukian met Kavna, a beluga whale, in 1979 and the meeting had a big impact on his life.

Cavoukian created Baby Beluga, a song about an imaginary whale in the ocean that inspires all of life.

Regrettably, Kavna, at 46 years old, has passed way.

A necropsy revealed that cancerous lesions were found in Kavna's body, whose health had been deteriorating for months.

Cavoukian said the following about his fallen friend:

He had a profound impact on me. [Kavna] came out of the water and placed a gentle, graceful kiss on my cheek and I couldn't stop talking about it for a couple of weeks!

That encounter inspired the song "Baby Beluga," and as I like to say, the song set the whale free.

Kavna died at the Vancouver Aquarium.

RIP Kavna.

The best part? The whale was actually listening!

Miley Cyrus Insists Alcohol Is 'Way More Dangerous' Than Weed! Shares Her New Priorities As An Adult & Artist!

Perhaps Amanda Bynes would have been better off giving Miley Cyrus her bong!

The We Can’t Stop singer interviewed with Rolling Stone magazine for their July 4th issue, and revealed her fairly liberal thoughts on drugs and alcohol.

Given her stoner reputation, we’re not totally surprised. Though, when asked to clarify her penchant for weed, she said:

"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes... I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves."

That sounds fairly straightforward to us. Mileybird then went ahead to state that she thinks there are things much, much worse than a little bit of the green stuff:

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana -- people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care... I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

She added:

"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Well, Miley, marijuana isn’t exactly legal in California unless you have a prescription, so we’re not entirely sure what you mean. But, okay...

As for her transition from Disney teen idol to mature pop star, she said:
