Embarrassed to dance in front of people? Surprise, most people are. But if it is something you love to do, or really want to do, you gotta start somewhere! There are tons of beginning dance tutorials on youtube, classes at the gym, or night clubs to go out and practice. Remember, dance is like a language and I don't know anyone who can learn spanish in one day. If you commit to learning, you will notice improvement in as little as 3 weeks. Happy dancing!

If you are looking to get a little more out of your dance workout, try wearing heavier shoes (like a cool new pair of hightops) or buying light ankle weights. Also, any chance you get during the workout, engage your core. It will help with stability and strengthen your tummy muscles.

A FitPerez reader wants to start seriously dancing, but has some concerns so he wrote Benjamin Allen for advice, asking:
Hi Ben,
I'm 18 and I want to dance. Can I start now and still get good at jazz, hip
hop, tap, and contemporary/modern? I'm a guy.
According to Ben:
Hey there! If you are passionate and want to learn how to dance, it's never too late to start. I actually didn't start until I was 18 so I say jump right in. Certain styles will probably come more natural to you, and you may find you like one more than the other. Find some great teachers to learn from and try it all! Go for it…you could be the next Bob Fosse!

David Guetta and Snoop Dogg's Gonna Make You Sweat is a fitting song for this workout because that's exactly what it's gonna do!
Now you're burning calories AND learning moves you can whip out on the dance floor next time you're in the club!

This looks so fun!!
Benjamin Allen is understandably awesome, and he's decided to help out FitPerez with a little instructional fitness dance video, Nicole Scherzinger style!
Though, the best part is that it isn't lame like a lot of them can be — it actually looks like it'll be a blast to learn!
The question is: Will you even try it out in the club?? Ha!
Thanks, Benjamin!
