This may be his best idea yet!

At the Parisian launch of his Little Black Jacket exhibition, Karl Lagerfeld was asked about Balenciaga's soon to be ex-creative director Nicolas Ghesquière's future. As usual, his two cents were brillz!

Chanel’s captain said:

"Perhaps Nicolas wants to have his own label, which is not a bad idea. And it would not be a bad idea if somebody such as Bernard Arnault would invest in a new label because there are so many old labels [within LVMH]."

It was already suggested that both of these things would happen, but maybe with Unkle Karl behind the idea it will gain more steam.

Also, how funny that he called them "old!" LOLz! Oh, Karl!

Hedi Slimane wants to make some major changes now that he's creative director of Yves Saint Laurent

Rumor has it Slimane approached CEO Bernard Arnault about dropping Yves from the name and go by just Saint Laurent.

Who does he think he is? Jack McFarland!?

Slimane apparently wants to "lose the history" associated with the iconic label and Arnault is actually considering it.

Yves Saint Laurent’s long-time partner, Pierre Berge, has gone to great lengths to keep the designer in the forefront of peoples minds when they think of the brand.

No word on how he feels about this, but it’s safe to say it’s not good!

Hmm… we just can’t envision a label with only SL on it, can U???

It's been a minute since we've heard any buzz about John Galliano's successor at Christian Dior, that is until now.

The rumor du jour is LVMH boss Bernard Arnault wants Marc Jacobs to take over the gig because his image would be good for the fashion house.

So what does that mean for Louis Vuitton?

Since MJ has already renewed his creative director contract he could do both, but according to sources he'll most likely have to choose one or the other.

After nearly 15 years at Louis V, maybe a change would be good for Marc.

There's one person in the world that Marc Jacobs can't say 'no' to and that's Anna Wintour.

He told the Wall Street Journal:

"If I get a request for something, there aren't two possible answers. First I get an email, then a phone call from someone at Vogue, and now I don't even bother to say no - I know the next call is from her."

Hey, if Anna suggested your name to LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault as a good designer to takeover Louis Vuitton, you probably wouldn't say no either.

Mexican Telecom businessman Carlos Slim Helu might be the richest man in the world with a net worth of $74 billion, but he’s also joined by several fashion leaders.

In fact, Bernard Arnault, pictured above, come in at the number four spot making him the richest fashion businessman in the world worth $41 billion! Arnault owns the LVMH conglomerate which controls some of the top labels around like Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Givenchy.

Amancio Ortega, who founded Zara, come in at number seven with $31 billion.

H&M chairman, Stefan Persson, has a pretty big bank account as well, being worth $24.5 billion on the number thirteen spot and is followed by Liliane Bettencourt, heir to L'Oreal, at number fifteen worth $23.5 billion.

Even Salma Hayek’s father-in-law, Francois Pinault, is on the list at number 67 with an $11.5 billion worth. Pinault owns PPR which includes Gucci, YSL, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Puma.

Looks like there's a lot of money to be made in the fashion industry.

There's at least one person in the fashion industry who won't be supporting John Galliano, and that's Karl Lagerfeld.

The designer said in a statement:

"I’m furious, if you want to know. I’m furious that it could happen, because the question is no longer even whether he really said it. The image has gone around the world. It’s a horrible image for fashion, because they think that every designer and everything in fashion is like this. This is what makes me crazy in that story. The thing is, we are a business world where, especially today, with the Internet, one has to be more careful than ever, especially if you are a publicly known person. You cannot go in the street and be drunk — there are things you cannot do… I’m furious with him because of the harm he did to LVMH and [chairman and ceo] Bernard Arnault, who is a friend, and who supported him more than he supported any other designer in his group, because Dior is his favorite label. It’s as if he had his child hurt."

You know Unkle Karl does have a good point.

With all the technology that's out there, celebs should be more cautious with what they do and say because as soon as it leaves their lips it can be on the internet.
