Alejandro González Iñárritu Prevails As Best Director At The 2016 Golden Globes!

Alejandro González Iñárritu is having another AMAZING award season.

Just a year after Alejandro took home an Oscar for Best Director (Birdman), he snagged the title of Best Director at the Golden Globes for his work on The Revenant.

The talented director beat out other heavyweights like Todd Haynes (Carol), Todd McCarthy (Spotlight), George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road), Ridley Scott (The Martian).

Hopefully Iñárritu's win signals good luck for the movie's star and Best Actor in a Motion Picture nominee, Leonardo DiCaprio! Dude really deserves an award after all his years of Oscar snubs!

Chances are, not everyone is going to find the comment you made hilarious and Sean Penn certainly found that out the hard way.

The actor's green card joke when Alejandro González Iñárritu won for Best Director at the Oscars did not sit well everyone. Some even called the jab racist or insensitive!

However, the Birdman director didn't take it too seriously. In fact, Alejandro revealed he's used to it because he does the same to Sean!

Congratulations, Alejandro Innaritu!

The man behind the helm of the imaginative Birdman just won the award for Best Director at the Oscars!

Alejandro had to beat out Richard Linklater for Boyhood, Bennett Miller for Foxcatcher, Wes Anderson for The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Morten Tyldum for The Imitation Game.

That is some pretty tough competition!

This has been a night full of hotly contested categories, so this win is definitely deserved!

Alfonso just won the award for Best Director at the Oscars tonight for his innovative film work on Gravity, and we're totally over the moon about his win!

He beat out The Wolf of Wall Street's Martin Scorsese, American Hustle's David O. Russell, Nebraska's Alexander Payne, and 12 Years a Slave's Steve McQueen! Talk about some tough competition!

Alfonso Cuarón is gonna get SO MANY free drinks this evening for winning Best Director at this year's Golden Globes!

Gravity is one of the most amazing movies in recent years, and we couldn't be happier!

Honestly, we were a bit nervous for him though because he was up against a TON of talent, like Paul Greengrass (Captain Philips), Steve McQueen (12 Years A Slave), Alexander Payne (Nebraska), and David O. Russell American Hustle.

It was a hard road, but if you've seen Gravity you know he deserves it!

Congrats, Alfonso! Don't give anyone herpes!!
