Starbucks To Open Three New Juice Stores

starbucks-juice-evolution-opens-more.jpg

Starbucks kinda has a lock on the whole coffee thing, so now they've set their sights on less bitter beverages.

Juice!

Starbucks is planning on opening three more Evolution Fresh Inc. juice stores in addition to the one they already opened in Washington.

They're even expanding distribution of their ready-to-drink bottles of Evolution juice to supermarkets.

Apparently premium juices are "in."

Starbucks is trying to diversify as more and more places are serving premium coffees.

One Evolution store will open in San Fran with two opening in Seattle.

One Seattle store opens this Friday, the other two this fall.

Get ya juice on!

Energy And Sports Drinks Are DESTROYING Your Teeth!

energy drinks rot teeth

Which do you love more — feeling alert and focused or your pearly white teeth? If you chose the latter, then you probably want to stop drinking energy and sports drinks!

A new study has found that the beverages loaded with electrolytes sugar and crazy high acidity levels are actively (and irreversibly) tearing the protective enamel off our teeth after just 5 days of regularly drinking them!

The study tested the effects of nine energy drinks and 13 sports drinks on teeth to discover the results that would make any dentist shriek. And in case you're wondering, energy drinks (like your precious Red Bull) were the WORST offenders because they caused twice as much damage to teeth as sports drinks.

What's crazy is that these beverages are marketed to America's youth as if they will deliver a blast of energy that will help them overcome any obstacle or help their performance on the football field. In reality, kids are simply "bathing their teeth with acid" when they guzzle them down.

Some of you may be thinking, "Who needs enamel on their teeth, anyway?" If you want your teeth protected from cavities and decay, U do!

You know what other beverage is really refreshing and can even help wake us up in the morning? Water!

Orlando Bloom Leaves The Gym Looking Good

Orlando Bloom was spotted on his way out of the gym.

He was leaving a gym in West Hollywood with a tasty looking beverage in his hand.

He also had a giant watch on, which must've made working out hard.

Maybe it's weighted to make his workouts tougher.

Though that's probably not true. LOLz!

Maxim Magazine Loves TY KU

Ty Ku drink

We're not the only people singing the praises of this low-cal alternative to vodka that is perfect for summer cocktails.

Japan's best kept secret is out and Maxim has taken notice.

TY KU Soju is the men's magazine's #1 choice to "build a better martini", writing:

#1. Make it hurt less

HOW: USE SOJU AS A BASE

Soju is a Korean spirit made from high-starch grains and vegetables—rice, sweet potatoes, even carrots. Barley-based soju in particular has a flavor profile similar to vodka’s, which makes it an easy substitute in plenty of cocktails. The benefits: It’s lower in alcohol and sugar—the real hangover-maker. That means you can pound several more than usual before you’re on the floor. And it might even reduce that spare tire to a donut.

TRY: TY KU SOJU

Smooth, easy, and a bit sweet, it’s the Justin Timberlake of spirits. $25, trytyku.com.

If you're 21 or over and still haven't tried it yet, what are you waiting for? Remember, ALWAYS drink responsibly!

Stress Reducing Drinks On The Rise

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueDietsFood

Drank Be Happy beverages

First, we wanted an energy drink to stay alert and focused, but now consumers are seeking beverages to do the opposite and help them chill out.

"Relaxation" drinks may be the newest bottled phenomenon with an estimated $100 million market.

Similar to those little bottles of 5-Hour Energy, beverage makers are now marketing 2 oz. shots to 12 oz. cans that go by mellow names like Unwind, iChill, Be Happy.

Ingredients inside these "stress reducers" vary from the amino acid L-theanine, which is found in green tea, to melatonin, used in sleep aids. The real question, however, is do they work?

Alice Lichtenstein, professor of nutrition at Tufts University, doesn't seem to think so, explaining:

"I don't think there's any mainstream research that would support any of this. If you want to relax, drink chamomile tea."

We're not scientists, but we'd probably have to agree.

However, ask us in a couple years after we've been bombarded with television, radio, and print marketing campaigns (plus lots of free samples being handed out from the trunks of decorated Mini-Coopers) and we MAY have changed our minds.
