Bill Cosby Drops Defamation Lawsuit Against Accuser Beverly Johnson — For Now, Anyway

Filed under: DrugsLegal MattersVanity FairViolenceBill Cosby

Bill Cosby and Beverly Johnson

Bill Cosby's defense has decided to drop the defamation lawsuit against Beverly Johnson — for the time being, anyway.

In case you need a refresher, Johnson opened up in a Vanity Fair piece about how Bill allegedly spiked her cappuccino during an audition at his home for The Cosby Show. As a result, the scandalized star filed a lawsuit saying the former model is making false accusations in an attempt to become relevant again.

Ouch.

Now, Cosby's lawyers have reportedly asked for a dismissal of the defamation case while their camp focuses full attention on his ongoing criminal case regarding another accuser Andrea Constand.

The attorney says Johnson's case will be refiled after the criminal case is over and before the statute of limitations expires.

Bill Cosby's Sexual Assault Accuser Andrea Constand Wants Their Confidentiality Agreement Thrown OUT

no title

Andrea Constand will no longer be silenced!

In response to Bill Cosby's latest motion to have Andrea's sexual assault charges thrown out due to a violation of a 2005 confidentiality agreement, the DailyMail confirms the 42-year-old is requesting a judge void the document entirely.

For those who don't know, Andrea and Bill peacefully ended a civil suit for an alleged 2004 rape by agreeing to an expensive confidentiality agreement. Not only did B.C. give Constand a lot of money to keep quiet, he also required she never press charges and avoid ever speaking to the press.

Here's the problem — A.C. feels like she was pressured into the agreement to begin with and she wants out. Andrea claims former prosecutor Bruce Castor made a shady deal not to prosecute the comedian at the time of the sexual assault, a move which influenced her to take the damning deal.

Now the complainant is asking a judge to throw out the agreement so she can speak freely regarding the renewed sexual assault case against the actor. The Canadian also hopes a nullification of these documents will help other alleged victims pursue their cases.

In a statement, Andrea explained her position:

Camille Cosby Loses Last Ditch Attempt To Postpone Court Appearance & Is Still Set To Be Deposed

Bill's wife is going to court.

The day has finally come for Camille Cosby.

On Monday, Bill Cosby's wife is set to be deposed in court after a last ditch attempt on Saturday night to delay it once again.

U.S. District Judge Mark Mastroianni denied her emergency motion, as her lawyers stated that her court appearance "serves no purpose other than to harass and embarrass her."

Also according to her motion, she "has had no involvement with the facts or allegations underlying this case" and that her testimony would create "an unnecessary media circus and personal security threat."

In case you didn't know, seven women claim they were drugged and sexually assaulted by the actor, in which he called them liars.

Camille will be testifying in court in relation to their allegations, though as we previously reported, the 71-year-old can refuse to answer certain questions.

We will continue to update you with any more information.

Kris Jenner Is Reportedly Worried About The KUWTK Brand As Kanye West Spirals Out Of Control — Can The Momager Fix THIS Problem?

kris jenner pissed kanye west

Kris Jenner is NOT happy with Kanye West.

Or at least, that's what reports are saying. Recently, Yeezus has been getting himself into a bit of hot water by actively taking to Twitter to rant about his supposed debt, Bill Cosby's possible innocence, and so much more!

Not to mention, Yeezy's dealt with some serious backlash over his recent Saturday Night Live meltdown. Oof!

Well, it appears as though Kim Kardashian West's momager is stressing pretty hard about her son-in-law's crazy antics and feels as though this behavior could hurt the family's empire.

Bill Cosby Wants His Settlement Money Back From Alleged Sexual Assault Victim Andrea Constand

no title

We guess Bill Cosby needs extra money to pay his hefty lawyer fees.

According to legal docs originally filed February 1, Bill wants alleged sexual assault victim Andrea Constand to pay back money he gave her in a 2006 confidentiality settlement. Cosby decided to dole out the bucks to Andrea after she sued him for defamation in 2005.

Related: Kanye West Thinks Bill Is Innocent!

The actor is now going after A.C. since she, along with her mother, willingly cooperated with investigators in 2015. The investigation into the January 2004 alleged sex crime ultimately led prosecutors to officially charge the comedian with sexual assault.

In response to Bill's latest crusade, Andrea's lawyer responded:

"Cosby reps have engaged in a public campaign to support Cosby's public persona as a moralist and to discredit the many women who accused Cosby of unwanted sexual comment with them."

Yep, it's clear the legal lady is NOT having it!

So, do YOU think Constand should return the money?

Camille Cosby To Be Deposed In Bill Cosby’s Defamation Case — But With Limitations

Bill's wife will be deposed.

As we previously reported, Camille Cosby had been scheduled to be deposed on January 6 in the defamation case against her husband, Bill Cosby.

The 71-year-old was granted a delay, but despite the appeal from the actor, a judge ordered on Thursday that she will be deposed, but can refuse to answer some specific questions.

In case you didn't know, seven women claim they were drugged and sexually assaulted by the actor, in which he called them liars.

U.S. District Judge Mark Mastroianni wrote of his decision:

"This is a difficult issue as there is very little authority directly on the subject. The court concludes that the marital disqualification rule does apply to deposition testimony. Deponent, when appropriate, may refuse to answer deposition questions which call for testimony prohibited by the rule and not falling within an exception. The court will not quash the deposition subpoena and will not issue a formal protective order."

The deposition is still scheduled for February 22.

Cosby's team has since responded to the news, with spokesman Andrew Wyatt saying:
