Sadly, it sounds like the movie is right back in square one.
While signing autographs for fans at a recent event for his Crystal Head Vodka, Dan Aykroyd revealed that he is still adamantly trying to get Ghostbusters 3 made.
We last heard that Bill Murray officially turned down a role in the film, but now the two writers who were working on the script have moved on too!
Never fear, Ray is still here and he's hired NEW writers to get the job done. Here's what he said when asked about his passion project:

LOLz!
We love Bill Murray!
Unfortunately for fans, a recent Charleston RiverDogs game had to be delayed due to rain. Luckily for fans, Bill Murray is a part-owner!

Bill Murray wants to get in on the hologram craze so he debuted his own (above) on The Late Show with David Letterman.
The actor revealed that all of his art films are killing him financially and he needs to "whore out with the commercial junk," if he wants to make any money. So, he's planning on performing a concert for his fans…in hologram form.
A one-man Billy Murray hologram show? We're in! Ha!
When "the technological miracle" finally showed up sitting next to him with a banjo in hand, the apparition proceeded to tune up with band leader Paul Schaffer. That is until the REAL Murray quipped, "Well, I don't play banjo yet."
LOL!

Could this be it!? Could this be the role that finally gets Bill Murray an Oscar???
He was nominated in 2003 for Lost In Translation, but couldn't secure a win. Now the actor is portraying Franklin D. Roosevelt in the upcoming release of Hyde Park On Hudson and we are VERY impressed by his thespian skillz!
Just as we predicted, Murray is pretty much FDR's reincarnation in the first trailer (above) for the Focus Features period piece and we're eager to see his entire performance!
Laura Linney co-stars alongside Murray as his distant cousin Margaret Stuckley during a weekend in 1939 when the King and Queen of the United Kingdom visited upstate New York.
U like?

ATTEN: Ladies of France!
Be on the look out for these two tigers on the prowl!
Bill Murray and his pal, directer Wes Anderson are in Cannes premiering their latest flick Moonrise Kingdom — AND looking for ladies!
The two gentlemen were seen at a bar talking up some lovely females from 1 AM to after 3:30 AM Thursday. We hear Mr. Murray was especially enjoying himself, and the booze, flirting with women and singing with the bars piano player!
According to our source:
"The actor was heard telling the object of his affection that he planned to give her a kiss at midnight, before realizing it was already the wee hours of the morning."
The former SNL cast member finished the evening morning by singing Sweet Home Chicago before scampering off to bed.
Sounds like Lost in Translation wasn't too far from reality!
