We knew this might happen, but it's still so sad, and so soon.
Actor Ron Lester, who is most well-known for his role as Billy Bob in the classic 1999 football film Varsity Blues, has died at 45 years old.
The actor was suffering from serious health problems recently, and late Friday night he was taken off life support in a Dallas hospital, where he had been receiving care for more than four months.
In addition to Varsity Blues, where he played the heavy offensive lineman that protected the quarterback played by James Van Der Beek (above), Lester appeared in a variety of shows and movies like Not Another Teen Movie, and CSI: NY.
He had been battling liver problems as far back as the end of last year, and apparently was also dealing with kidney problems, according to TMZ.
