Beautiful songwriter Linda Perry has come to Xtina's defense, specifically talking about her last album, Bionic, and why it didn't sell very well.
Here are some highlights from a recent interview in which Perry talks about Xtina in a very positive light:
"I think Christina’s awesome and a very talented person. She definitely doesn’t care — and that is a fact. You know how some people say “I don’t care” and they really do? I can tell you that Christina really doesn’t care…. because she learned very early on that critics are critics, people will say whatever they want and it’s up to her to decide what is the truth and what is not. She stands true to what she knows."
"It’s not all about selling a bazillion records to her. She just wants to be able to stand behind it. In the end she did say to me, 'Maybe I did release the Bionic record too soon. Oh well. Now, I wanna make a rock record!' I was like 'Oh, God!' She’s gonna take everybody for a ride. So, ultimately, why she gets put down I don’t know. You’ll never know, I’ll never know, only Christina will ever figure that out and get the answer."
Very nice, encouraging words from Miss Perry.
We're sure Xtina appreciates it!

Is this really the best idea??
Christina Aguilera's floptacular album Bionic could very possibly be reissued in connection with the singer's promotion of her debut movie role in Burlesque.
The album has sold less than 500,000 copies worldwide so why would her label want to re-release an album that nobody was interested the first time aorund?
RCA VP Scott Seviour said, "It's not like the music industry, where the talent comes out two weeks before the album. They started at the end of July. Burlesque ideally gives us the opportunity to remarket Bionic."
So what does Xtina have to say about the reissue of her album?
"I knew going into Burlesque that it would intertwine with Bionic, but I also knew that I'd get to a point where regardless of what was happening with my record I'd have to turn my attention to the movie. I've basically put everything in my life on hold for the movie."
Come on guys! Let's just pretend Bionic never happened and work on new material!

We absolutely adore the Australian songstress Sia, but it appears as though she's taking a bit of a hiatus from performing to focus on solely songwriting - and she's got quite the list of pop stars considering her tunes!
Although her last few lyrical contributions ended up on Christina Aguilera's less-than-stellar Bionic, Sia recently revealed that she's submitted to both P!nk and Britney Spears, but there's only ONE diva with whom she's REALLY trying to collaborate: Beyonce!
"Beyonce! She's my queen. Now that I've written for Christina, and I hope I keep writing for her because she's a fucking powerhouse, but Beyonce is my queen."
And we sincerely hope that she takes you up on your request, bb!
We think that you two might produce some truly interesting, AWESOME tunes!
But we hope that you don't stop performing all together, either! Your voice is truly one of a kind, and would be greatly missed!

We weren't sure if we'd ever see this again!!
But good news for Xtina!
She has the #1 spot on Billboard's Dance/Club Chart with her single You Lost Me from her floptacular album Bionic.
Not gonna lie, we're a little shocked, but hey, you get it, Christina!

It was a quick death, to be sure, but frankly, one that needed to happen. It was weighing her down too much.
Christina Aguilera's first foray in returning to music was a complete bust, but thankfully, she has finally listened to our advice and has told sources she is moving on.
During a press conference for her new movie Burlesque, she said:
"The creative process that involved Bionic is over, I did what I wanted to do and I'm satisfied with it. If the album sells or if the songs are a hit, I don't care and I don't need to know it, I did my part and I gave 100% while I was doing it, and I'm proud of this work…The creative process is my thing, I'm an artist and once something is over, I look forward for what is next, and I don't look back."
If that is how you want it, we'll try to oblige…until the next horrendous single comes out later this month!

It's kind of surreal to think it has only been two months since Christina Aguilera released her fourth album, Bionic. What's truly baffling is that, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, her people still believe it can do well commercially.
We never hear the Bionic songs on the radio. We don't know anyone who was particularly thrilled with the videos. And, quite frankly, Xtina hasn't said word one about the album since it's release and there are rumors - unsubstantiated right now - that RCA is ready to drop her ass! So shouldn't we all just put the thing to rest and move on?
Aguilera's manager says "No!"
Irving Azoff took to his Twitter to announce that though the album hasn't had any kind of real success, "no one is giving up on Bionic", especially not RCA or Christina. According to him, Christina has a nice long-term contract with the label that isn't going anywhere and her absence from promotion is due to the fact that she is completely focused on working on new music for her upcoming film Burlesque.
Wait. Doesn't that mean that she is giving up on Bionic?

We tried to warn you. We expressed our concern for how awful this album was. You chose to ignore us. Enjoy the repercussions.
You probably had no idea that Christina actually released her latest single already. You also probably didn't know that the video for the single, You Lost Me, already had its VEVO debut.
You're not alone.
Despite how "hyped" the video and song were, it's getting literally no airplay on US radio. Because no one has heard the song, no one is downloading it either. As of today, You Lost Me is not even in the top 200 on the iTunes singles chart.
Well, you can always say you tried, girl…even though you failed!
Let's hope Burlesque fairs better than this!
(What are we saying? Of course it will! One word: CHER!!!!)
