Birdman and Lil Wayne may not be on the best terms right now — or even on good terms — but the rapper's mentor says he still cares about his frenemy.
The 46-year-old opened up about their feud, explaining that he's confused as to why it even started in the first place, saying:
"You never thought Wayne would be saying nothing negative about me in no lifetime. I never thought that could ever happen — for that man to open his mouth and say something negative about me. I love my son. He mean the world to me. For that man to say something negative about me, that affected my life."
When it came out that Weezy was suing Birdman because he delayed the released of his newest album, Tha Carter V — and therefore allegedly violated their contract — we figured maybe it would just be a brief legal battle and the two would return to being fierce friends when it was all said and done.
Instead, Wayne made it pretty clear that he also wanted out of their label, Cash Money, and things sort of spiraled from there.
