According to new data from the Pew Research Center, the U.S. birth rate has continued to decline last year following a year of record high births in 2007.

The amount of babies being born has decreased by over 300,000 last year compared to the amount born in '07.

Experts are linking the downturn to the poor economy, which makes sense because, well, kids are expensive!

An annual report known as America’s Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being 2011, which is a compilation of statistics on children from numerous organizations, has found that teen birth rates have declined, but teen drug has increased.

For the second consecutive year in the United States, the adolescent birth rate dropped from 21.7 per 1,000 girls ages 15 to 17 (2008) to 20.1 per 1,000 (2009, preliminary data).
