843 People SUED Over Paris Hilton Sex Tape!

bittorrent-users-sued-over-illegally-sharing-paris-hilton-sex-tape

Ha! Every time we think that this thing has finally sunk without a trace, it comes back!

Paris Hilton's seksi timez tape, One Night In Paris, has made the headlines again - this time because its owner, XPAYS Inc. has filed lawsuits against 843 alleged BitTorrent users accused of illegally sharing it, and is demanding compensation for losses caused by the tape's mass copyright infringement on the media-sharing network.

The company claims that they “spent a substantial amount of time, money and effort to produce, market and distribute” the XXX flick, and that the illegal downloads have hindered their ability to profit from it.

Luckily, most of these mass lawsuits end with the defendants being given the opportunity to settle the case outside of court for a few hundred dollars, but still! One Night In Paris isn't worth that! It's not even worth watching to begin with!

LOLz!

Pirates Love Avatar!!!

pirates love avatar

Looks like pirates have set their sights on Pandora!

James Cameron's Avatar has been named 2010's most popular illegal download, with over 16 million BitTorrent downloads alone!

Avatar has received 51 percent more BitTorrent downloads than last year's #1 illegal download, Star Trek.

Other films on the unfortunate Top 10 List include Kick-Ass, Inception, Shutter Island, Iron Man 2, Clash of the Titans, Green Zone, Sherlock Holmes, The Hurt Locker, and Salt.

Don't worry too much, James! We're sure plenty of folks will still pick up Avatar on Blu-Ray & DVD to stuff those stockings!

Now, get going on that Avatar 2 script, bb!

Hurt Locker Team Sues 5,000 BitTorrent Users!!!

We're getting Napster flashbacks!!!

The producers behind the Oscar-winning film, The Hurt Locker, started a crusade a few months ago to sue BitTorrent users for illegally downloading their movie online.

As of yesterday, an official suit was filed and 5,000 BitTorrent users will be handed subpoenas for being in violation of copyright laws.

In one of the biggest lawsuits ever against individuals, Voltage Pictures is seeking $1,500 from each person to settle. They further warn if people won't settle, they'll go at them for ten times as much when and if the case goes to court.

Makes you want to rethink keeping your Netflix membership, huh? Might be worth it to keep it around!

As of now, a list of offenders has not been given to Voltage Pictures, only the IP addresses of the accused. But give it some time! Soon, those producers will be storming these people's homes in their own war!

That really sucks for the poor film student who can't even afford a package of Ramen Noodles and now has to cough up $1,500!

Shame!
