You Can Talk On Your Cell Phone While Flying Virgin Atlantic!

Virgin Atlantic cell phone usage

First people needed alcohol to fly, then they needed movies, but now Virgin Atlantic is taking customer satisfaction to the next level by introducing the first plane equipped for cellular phone usage!

The company announced that passengers traveling between New York City and London aboard the A330 Airbus plane will soon be able to make in-flight phone calls, send and receive texts, check e-mail, and surf the Web for $1.20 a minute.

Only 6 passengers can use the general packet radio service at a time, which is "intended for use in exceptional situations, when passengers need to send an SMS, make a quick call, or access an e-mail on a BlackBerry."

Much to Alec Baldwin's disappointment, however, phones still can't be used during take-off or landing. Ha!

Surprise, Surprise! iPhone Sales Are UP!

iphone sales are up

Things are NOT looking good for Team Blackberry!

As one should expect for ANY new apple product, sales for the iPhone 4S were up in quarter 1 for 2012!

According to preliminary numbers, Apple earned a total of $46.3 billion for Q1, thanks largely to the sale of 37.04 million iPhones! Wowsa!

Given the fact that only 17.07 million iPhones were sold LAST quarter (before the iPhone 4s was released), it's clear that EVERYBODY still purchased the new iPhone…even though version 5 will likely come out sooner than later!

Yeah…it's not a good time to be in competition with Apple. Not good at all.

What do U think? Will iPhone sales keep up during the next quarter???

starbucks accepting payments by mobile phone

Yet another reason to make sure you don't lose those iPhones!

In a totally futurrific move by Starbucks, the coffee company is now accepting payments via mobile phones throughout the U.S.

It works like this: there will be scanners at checkout, which will sync up with credit card/paypal-linked apps that are compatible with iPhones, Blackberrys, and the iPod touch.

According to testing reports from Starbucks, this new payment option is the fastest way for customers to pay for their no-foam low-fat grande caramel macchiatos coffee.

Pretty crazy stuff! Now, when are they going to introduce those video waiters from Back to the Future Part II???

Will U pay for coffee with your mobile phone?

Arianna Huffington Refuses To Turn Off Her Blackberry On Airplane, Gets Into Fight With Passenger!

huffington post founder gets into airplane dramz

Maybe this is why all the birds are dying…

On a recent United Express flight from Washington Dulles to New York, Arianna Huffington reportedly refused to turn off her BlackBerry.

53-year-old passenger Ellis Belodoff didn't appreciate Miss Huffington's divatude, and he reportedly confronted her and said the following:

"Hey, lady! Don't you speak English?"

Looks like the tables turned though, because the passenger broke the rules himself by getting out of his seat against flight crew instructions, and Port Authority Police of NY and NJ were alerted when the plane landed.

Here's what Port Authority spokeswoman Jen Friedberg had to say about it:

"The crew did alert our police when it looked like there was a fight brewing, but by the time they landed our police just spoke to them."

Apparently nobody got into trouble, but the two trouble-making passengers were given "a talking-to." LOLs.
