David Bowie's passing last week was quite a blow to the music world and several celebrities and friends who loved and admired the rock star.

While he's only been gone a very short time, Bowie's passionate fanbase is making sure he's not forgotten.

Last week we learned that the Space Oddity singer SMASHED Adele's Vevo record for most views in a single day when the world learned of his passing.

Well now the legendary musician has an even cooler record as his latest album, Blackstar – which was only released on January 8 - passed Adele's record sales for the week last week in the United States to become the number one album! Not only that, but this was David's FIRST number one album in the U.S.!

David Bowie's Producer Says The Singer Thought He Had A Few More Months Before He Died & Was Even Planning Another Album!

David wanted to make a follow-up to Blackstar.

This is so sad.

David Bowie's album Blackstar dropped only days before his untimely passing, but it turns out he didn't think it would be his last.

The amazing artist's producer, Tony Visconti, told Rolling Stone on Wednesday that the singer had actually been planning on releasing another album prior to his death.

Just one week before the legend lost his battle with cancer, he had a FaceTime conversation with the 71-year-old, who revealed:

"At that late stage, he was planning the follow-up to Blackstar."

According to Tony, the famous father had written five new songs and put them on a demo. The record producer believes that this means the musician was unaware that he didn't have much time left, saying:

What a way for such a legend to go out.

The world was shocked on Sunday when it was reported that music icon David Bowie had passed away at the age of 69 after an 18-month long battle with cancer.

Almost immediately as the news came out, fans across the globe began downloading his famous songs and movies to honor their idol, and the response was pretty overwhelming.

As you may have heard, David's 27th studio album dropped January 8 — just two days ahead of his untimely death — and Blackstar is actually set to become his first-ever Billboard No. 1 album in the United States.
