The Dark Knight Rises Is The Third-Fastest Film To Reach $300 Million At The Box Office

Dark Knight Rises Third fastest to reach 300 million dollars

The Dark Knight Rises couldn't top Marvel's 3D blockbuster The Avengers — or its own predecessor for that matter — but the sequel did manage to become the third-fastest film to reach $300 million at the U.S. box office.

While Avengers took just 9 days to reach the mark and The Dark Knight took 10, Christopher Nolan's final Batman movie shot past the number on Tuesday after 12 days in theaters.

That number can still climb considering the Christian Bale movie grossed $64.1 million in its second weekend of release and plenty of people have still steered clear because of the tragedy in Colorado.

So far it is the third-best domestic box office performer of the year. We doubt it will beat the $615.8 million record set by Marvel, but it could easily Rise above The Hunger Games, which grossed a total of $406 million.

Marvel Wants To Remind Us Why We LOVED The Avengers With These Blu-Ray Clips

The Avengers, the movie that no one has stopped talking about since it hit theaters last May, is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on September 25.

Since Marvel wants people to KEEP talking about it until then, the studio has released clips from the movie that remind us why we loved it in the first place.

Watch one of our favorite scenes (above) in which the team works together to take down one of the giant flying beast things that the Chitauri use to bulldoze NYC. That's not our favorite part though. We just like it when the Hulk punches Thor for pretty much no reason. LOLz!

Check out more memorable scenes from the ultimate superhero flick PLUS a snippet from Item 47, the short film that comes with the DVD … AFTER THE JUMP!

Another Day, Another Bourne Legacy Trailer

After the Dark Knight Rises hits theaters next Friday, there really isn't too much big blockbuster action to look forward to other than The Bourne Legacy.

Universal continues to roll out the marketing for their hopeful summer hit and have released a new 60-second trailer (above).

It's mostly the same stuff we've already seen, but there are a few new tidbits of Jeremy Renner skillfully taking his opponents down to the ground.

Ch-ch-check it out (above) and let us know if U think the Avenger will be an effective replacement for Matt Damon!

Tom Cruise Looks Happy To Be Filming Oblivion Despite Divorce

Tom Cruise mountain air oblivion

Well someone's left hand is looking a little empty!

Whatever pain Tom Cruise is feeling after Katie Holmes shocked him with a divorce, he seems to be hiding it pretty well on the set of Oblivion.

The 50-year-old actor was spotted on the California set on Tuesday with a smile on his face and later, laughing with the crew, all the time noticeably NOT wearing his wedding ring.

He'll be busy shooting the sci-fi flick in the mountains this week, which should provide enough beautiful scenery and hot temperatures to keep his mind off of his personal troubles.

Independence Day sequel

We've been hearing about these supposed sequels for years now, but it sounds like Roland Emmerich and co-writer Dean Devlin finally got their shiz together!

In a recent interview, Devlin spilled the news that he and Emmerich have developed an idea for the sequel which would be "a worthy path to go." He revealed that he's working with the blockbuster director again "for the first time in 11 years," as he explained:
