Hopefully he's able to fully recover, since the show's been extended through July!
While backstage for a scene transition during a performance of Chris Rock's Broadway play The Motherf***er With the Hat," actor Bobby Cannavale banged his head badly, but continued with the play anyway.
Bobby's wound left him "sore and bleeding," and an ambulance was called, but Cannavale wanted to finish the performance.
Here's what a show spokesman had to say about the incident:
"He's a real trooper and it didn't seem to phase him a bit. During a scene transition about an hour into the show, Bobby Cannavale accidentally hit his head backstage. He took a hard hit and had to take a moment to compose himself. He was also bleeding a bit, so the show was halted for a 15 minute pause while he was bandaged up."
"Then, the show picked up right where it left off and he finished the rest of the performance."
Fortunately, Bobby went to his doctor to receive stitches immediately after the show.
We certainly appreciate his decision to finish the performance, and we're sure the audience was thankful, but his safety should be the #1 concern.
If this happens again, maybe you'd be better immediately going to a doctor, Bobby! We need you in good shape, if you're gonna continue with the show through July!
What do U think about Bobby Cannavale's decision to keep going through his injury? Commendable? Ill-advised? A bit of both?
