Seems like pretty standard-looking action movie, until an EFFING ALIEN SPACESHIP shows up to eff shiz up!

Can we get a WTF?! Seriously?

But hey - with a cast like this and the already evident pretty superb special effects, we'll most likely be tuning in!

Back in October, it looked like Universal's Ouija board movie was finally gaining some steam, but then once again nothing much happened with it.

Now, it looks like the movie is gaining steam once again needs some script work.

Universal has brought on Sherlock Holmes writer Simon Kinberg to polish the script, which had a previous draft written by Lost's Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis.

Come on, Lost guys! You told us a six season epic tale that took us on a journey through time and alternate universes…yet you can't figure out an effective way to take on Ouija???

Ah well! Hopefully Simon can impress Universal with his new draft, so we can finally get to see the Ouija movie that we've been SO SO SO SO excited about for SUCH a long time!

…And then let's get going on Mouse Trap: The Movie next. LOLz.

Just think…in the near future, somebody will get paid thousands upon thousands of dollars to write shows based on an iPhone app. Don't we live in wonderful times?

According to Mikael Hed, the CEO of the company that created the Angry Birds iPhone app (Rovio Mobile), an animated series of the popular game is in the works.

Here's what he had to say about it:

"We have been looking at that for quite a while, and that is definitely one of my personal big focus areas right now — to work on broadcast content for 'Angry Birds."

Given the fact that the iPhone app has already been spun off into another game, an upcoming board game by Mattel, plush toys, and iPhone covers, we're thinking that an animated Angry Birds series is very likely to happen.

Personally, we've been seeing enough birds on TV lately, with all the bizarre reports of recent bird deaths.

…We're thinking we'll skip this one.

Don't worry, James. Obviously Battleship has no chance of competing with Titanic or Avatar or probs most of the movies you've made.

During a recent interview, James Cameron spoke up about the upcoming Battleship movie, and let's just say the fact that Rihanna stars in it isn't doing anything for him.

Here's what Cameron had to say about it:

“We have a story crisis. Now they want to make the Battleship game into a film. This is pure desperation.

"Everyone in Hollywood knows how important it is that a film is a brand before it hit theaters. If a brand has been around, Harry Potter for example, or Spider-Man, you are light years ahead. And there lies the problem. Because unfortunately these franchises are becoming more ridiculous. Battleship. This degrades the cinema.”

We certainly agree that Hollywood needs to come up with more original story ideas, but admittedly, if Alexander Skarsgard ends up shirtless in this board game movie, we won't be COMPLETELY disappointed.

A year ago, we got word that a Ouija board movie was on its way, but then nothing happened with it.

We were bummed to hear about that, so we asked our own Ouija board if the movie would ever happen, and sure enough, it told us that we'd hear more in October of 2010! And who says Ouija boards are bogus?

Looks like the movie's picking up some steam, with Michael Bay's production company Platinum Dunes and some of the writers from Lost behind it.

As far as the directing position is concerned, reports say that Taken director Pierre Morel is the top candidate for the position.

The Ouija movie is being developed as a National Treasure-like action-adventure movie. We're not sure yet to what extent they're looking to emulate National Treasure, but we wouldn't be surprised AT ALL if Nicolas Cage's name comes up soon!

Guess the execs at Platinum Dunes will have to ask their Ouija boards if Nic Cage would work well for this project…
