When it comes to anything animated, Disney's CGI subsidiary studio Pixar pretty much rules the world.
The company has won countless awards for their films — and it looks like they could earn another one thanks to their new short Borrowed Time!
The animated flick, which dropped earlier this week, follows an aging sheriff in the old west as he revisits and tries to come to terms with a tragedy from his past. Like other Pixar features Up and Inside Out, this one gets sad AF!
One of the film's co-creators, Lou Hamou-Lhadj, spoke a bit about the reasoning behind the story saying:
"A goal for us was to make something that kind of contested the notion of animation being a genre and one for children specifically. We really wanted to make something that was a little bit more adult in the thematic choices and show that animation could be a medium to tell any sort of story."
Ch-ch-check out the incredibly heartbreaking short (below) and make sure you have a box of tissues handy!
