Angelina's Bosnian War Film Gets Title And Release Date

Angelina Jolie's highly-anticipated directing debut now has a title and a release date.

The controversial film, which centers around the romance between a Serbian man and Bosnian woman during the Balkans conflict that took the lives of 100,000 people, has been titled In The Land of Blood and Honey and will be released on December 23 in the US.

According to a statement by Angelina Jolie, she describes the film:

"It illustrates the consequences of the lack of political will to intervene in a society stricken with conflict. The film is specific to the Bosnian War, but it's also universal. I wanted to tell a story of how human relationships and behavior are deeply affected by living in side a war.

The former Yugoslavia has a rich history of dramatic arts. The cast was extraordinary.I was privileged and honored to work with them and I am very excited for everyone to see their immense talent."

This has been such an interesting project. Let's hope it really does have a proper portrayal of the Bosnian War. We're definitely looking forward to checking out how Angie does as a director.

Angie Continues To Defend Her New Film!

She's standing behind her film!

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Angelina Jolie's directorial debut - an as-of-now untitled feature about the romance between a Serbian man and Bosnian woman during the Balkans conflict that took the lives of 100,000 people - most notably a rape scene that has left many Bosnian victims of sexual violence in protest and going as far to convince their minister to ban the actress from filming on location in the country!

While promoting her new film, The Tourist, she addressed the issue, and claims she never meant to offend or upset anyone, and is asking everyone to hold their judgment until they've seen the finished product!

She explains:

"It kept leaning toward Yugoslavia at the time, I wanted to learn more about it and the people, the more I read and learnt I was drawn to that part of the world. I met artists from that part of the world and found they were extraordinary for what they'd gone through, so I wanted to give them a platform. There's one person who has a gripe. The absolute majority of the people, population, the cast, prime minister, president have been extremely supportive. There are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters."

Furthermore, she claims that 95% of her cast actually lived through the war!

It seems to us that she's taken quite a bit of care with the project, and is approaching the material in a very sensitive nature, so we hope people do take her up on her plea to refrain from judgment until viewing the film!

At least then we can all have an educated opinion!

What do U think?? Is Angie being insensitive??

R.I.P. Brad Pitt…In Angie's New Movie That Is!

Filed under: Brad PittAngelina JolieFilm FlickersR.I.P.

brad pitt gets killed in new angie movie

Amongst all the issues that Angelina Jolie has experienced with her Bosnian War film, at least she knows she has the support of hubby Brad Pitt.

In fact, Brad is SO supportive that he's going to give his life sort of to help her with the film.

According to reports, Pitt will play a soldier who is shot to death.

It will be a very small role, and audiences will have to pay close attention to catch it!

What a sweet gesture on Brad's part! We wonder if people will be more inclined to see the movie because of the Brad Pitt factor.

Does Brad's small cameo do anything for you?

This sounds like a fantastic idea!

Angelina Jolie was reportedly so inspired by her recent visits as UN Goodwill Ambassador to Bosnia that she now plans to shoot a love story in the country, set during the Bosnian War!

The film, which she hopes to start in the fall, involves a couple and the hardships their relationship endures because of the war, and Jolie plans to use local actors in all of the roles!

She explains:

"I would like to involve as many local people as possible and learn as much as I can."

We're very curious to see how this develops!

It sounds like it has the potential to be very good!
