It's been a rough week for poor Randy Travis, but we're relieved to report he has stabilized!
The 54-year-old country icon remains in critical condition, but he IS awake and recovering in a Texas hospital!!
Doctors say his heart troubles were the cause of his initial hospitalization, but then Randy suffered a stroked while in treatment which forced him to undergo emergency neurosurgery to release pressure building up in his brain!!!
Ugh!!! That's so scary!!!
Dr. Michael Mack, a Balyor cardiac surgeon overseeing his case, explained the chronology of events in a recent statement.
Forgive us if we're not shocked that Hooters isn't into the brains of their waitresses, but this is on a whole new level of awful!
A waitress at Hooters since 2005, Sandra Lupo recently had to undergo brain surgery — and she's only 27 years old! They were removing and treating a cranial mass, which is NOT an easy procedure. When she was cleared to return to work last July, she was met with her manager saying she had to now WEAR A WIG during her shifts!
After getting hearing aids that correct the loss of hearing he experienced after undergoing brain surgery in 1988, Busey is ready to help others in the same way Marlee Matlin, the Oscar-winning actress who first identified Busey’s hearing loss, helped him.
"Marlee Matlin said to me that it's not right to stop somebody from hearing so she sent me to Dr. Bill Austin, Starkey hearing aid in Minnesota and he outfitted me in one hour with this hearing aid.”
"I had brain surgery after my motorcycle accident in '88 when I split my skull and it knocked a hole in my ear canal, making it smaller so Dr. Austin gave me these (hearing aids)… and now all five of my senses are working… Now I can help people with traumatic brain injury because I was the advocate voice that created the Traumatic Brain Injury Act that President Clinton signed in 1997. I'm very proud of that."
