A security guard who confronted the swimmer and his teammates is jumping on board against him now, too!

The 34-year-old security guard, who spoke to reporters under the condition of anonymity, confirmed that Lochte, Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger, and Jimmy Feigen were NOT robbed at gunpoint at the gas station in question!

The guard was the one at the gas station involved in that altercation with Lochte which police believe the swimmer tried to cover up with the robbery ruse.

The guard told Us Weekly:

Go for the fool's gold??

While the 2016 Summer Olympics haven't been as much of a trainwreck as viewers were predicting they'd be, Rio de Janeiro was still the center for a number of scandals over the past two weeks.

Most notably, however, has to have been Ryan Lochte's alleged mugging that took place Saturday night!

If you recall, the gold medalist claimed that he and three of his teammates — Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger, and Jimmy Feigen — were robbed at gunpoint by thieves pretending to be cops.

Unfortunately for Ryan, in addition to Olympic officials downplaying the robbery over fears of attracting negative press, we're now hearing the the Brazilian government doesn't actually think the mugging even took place!

Olympic Swimming Star Ryan Lochte Was Held Up At Gunpoint In Rio Last Night!

no title

UPDATE, 2:33 p.m. ET: We are learning more about Lochte's close call during the hold-up, and the details are scary!

According to TMZ, Lochte was in a cab with three other swimmers when men dressed as police ordered everybody out and down to the ground. (That's something we've seen before at these Olympics.)

The other swimmers complied, but at first Lochte refused, since he hadn't done anything wrong.

That's when, according to the report, one of the robbers put a gun to Lochte's head (!) and cocked it (!!), and asked for the swimmer's wallet.

WOW.

Lochte obliged, of course, and it appears that the swimmers involved were unharmed. Crazy…

Also, on a more humorous note, there's this (below):

Wow…

This story is scary — or just plain weird.

Ryan Lochte was apparently held up at gunpoint early Sunday morning in Rio De Janeiro, according to the Olympic star's own mother.

He was unharmed, thankfully, but Ileana Lochte told reporters that the star American athlete was on his way to a party with a group of people — including at least one of his US teammates — when they were mugged.

She said to USA Today (below):

We like this idea so much better!

As we reported earlier this week, the 2016 Rio Opening Ceremony was going to feature a skit where Gisele Bundchen gets robbed in order to highlight Brazil's social problems.

Well it looks like they officially ditched that idea COMPLETELY!

On Friday, at the start of the Olympics, the supermodel appeared on stage and strutted her stuff to the classic song The Girl from Ipanema.

Tom Brady's wife wore a beautiful silver dress by Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch.

According to Herchcovitch, the beauty icon was extremely hands on during the making of the gown.

"Gisele knows exactly what looks good on her and what doesn't, which makes the job much more objective and accurate. She was always present in the process… She gave important opinions, and we thought about the parts together. She made some important changes. Part of my creative process and development is to listen and adjust creations so she is satisfied."

Overall, the show was absolutely gorgeous, and we are so glad Gisele was a part of it!

It's no secret that the city of Rio de Janeiro is ill-prepared for the Summer Olympics this week.

From human remains on its beaches, to contaminated water full of raw sewage, to sketchy police that kidnap travelers like something out of a Liam Neeson movie — the troubled country won't be the most glamorous host of the games in recent years.

And it looks like the city's olympic golf course is no exception, because the green is overrun with all kinds of wildlife!

Many of the world's top golfers have already tapped out of this year's games, but the competing athletes still have a lot to worry about on the course — including capybaras, mini crocodiles, monkeys, and boa constrictors!

Mutilated Body Parts Wash Ashore On Rio de Janeiro Beach… Just YARDS Away From Olympic Volleyball Courts!

We really hope this doesn't set the games up for failure…

Volleyball is usually one of the most anticipated events the Olympics have to offer thanks to the revealing athletic attire and beach-ready bodies… but the 2016 Summer Olympics may just bump the sport off the map.

That's because after a spiking number of other disasters — i.e. Juma the Jaguar being shot dead, Paralympian cyclist Liesl Tesch getting robbed at gunpoint, and a general fear of the Zika virus — Rio de Janiero just suffered its most grotesque setback yet.

According to reports, body parts were discovered on Copacabana Beach on Wednesday… just YARDS away from the Olympic Beach Volleyball Arena!

Apparently, a mutilated foot and a second unidentified piece of human remains were found by a runner, and while local police have no leads, this just serves as a another sad reminder of what we might be getting when the Olympics kick off on August 5.

Please stay safe if you're traveling down to Rio this Summer!
