Adoption Agency Gives Unique Breed Names To Mutts, Adoption Rate Skyrockets!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueAdoptionDogRescue

A Costa Rican adoption agency came up with a seriously creative way of getting more shelter dogs adopted.

The problem is, many people see mutts as inferior to pure breeds.

The truth is, mutts are much heartier, with much lower incidences of genetic disease and lower rates of hip dysplasia!

So the adoption agency Territorio de Zaguates started giving unique breed names to their mutts!

Who wouldn't want to adopt an Alaskan collie fluffyterrier?! LOLz!

What's amazing is that just by giving the dogs super unique breed names, adoption rates climbed to over 1400%!!

That's incrediballs!!

Check out the video (above) to see some of these unique mutts!

Newborn Baby Mole Rat Is SUPER Adorbz! Yes, Really!

A newborn baby mole rat is super adorbz!!

Peoria Zoo in Illinois has welcomed its first surviving second generation Giant Zambian Mole-rat pup!

The little cutie was born back on June 22nd and has been growing rapidly.

The mole ratty has the most adorbz front teeth sticking out of his mouth!

It's so cute! But they're also functional, they are used for excavating their burrows by biting away the soil.

The Peoria Zoo is actually the first zoo in the U.S. to exhibit Giant Zambian Mole-rats.

They've been working to find a technique to ensure breeding success in the species, since they're not that easy to get to breed.

This little pup's mama was the first offspring to ever survive being born at the Peoria Zoo.

So glad this little cutie survived!!

Be afraid.

Be VERY afraid!

A brand new type of tarantula has been found in Sri Lanka with a leg span of 8 inches. That's about the size of a face.

Scientists believe they are part of the Poecilotheria genus, and they're finding them not just in the forest.

But in old buildings, too!

Here's what a scientist said:
