Shock jock Howard Stern has come to defend his recent guest, Brett Ratner.

Stern calls out Hollywood as hypocritical, and saying that members of Hollywood are "loopy."

Stern sites Hollywood's forgiveness towards Roman Polanski's past digressions as well as Hilary Swank's recent flub-up as well. Stern stated that while he does not use the word "fag" and hasn't for many years, he understands that Ratner has no anti-gay intentions.

Stern would go on and say the following:

Definitely a step back in the right direction for Brett.

To recap, earlier this week director Brett Ratner made a hateful, insensitive remark, and then soon thereafter his words were caught on tape.

THEN, Academy president Tom Sherak announced that he would NOT be firing Brett from the Oscars…but the director made the right move and resigned from the show anyway.

In his lengthy letter of apology, Brett mentioned that he was looking forward to working with GLAAD to "increase awareness of the important and troubling issues this episode has raised," and now it appears that GLAAD is taking him up on his offer.

Wow! The Oscars is gonna have to undergo a major facelift now!

After Brett Ratner was forced to resign for his rude comments, Eddie Murphy has stepped down from the hosting spot!

Though he doesn't directly say it's due to the loss of Brett by his side (Ratner recently directed Murphy's Tower Heist), that's what everyone's thinking, including the Academy's President Tom Sherak who says:

I appreciate how Eddie feels about losing his creative partner, Brett Ratner, and we all wish him well.

Shiz just got real!!!!

Brett Ratner put his foot in his mouth BIG TIME with his "rehearsing is for f*gs" comment (watch above) - so much so that he felt the heat from all corners of the entertainment industry and on Tuesday announced that he was stepping down as the producer of next year's Academy Awards.

In an open letter, Ratner apologized yet again and he wrote:

Ugh. Clearly this was not just something he said on the fly and quickly regretted.

Brett Ratner has come under a great deal of - warranted, mind you - criticism for his despicable use of a gay slur during a Q&A session Friday after a screening of his new movie, Tower Heist, and now, we've finally got video of the incident as it went down!

Watch (above) as he's asked about the rehearsal process, only to pause and announce "Rehearsal's for ****," as though it's some kind of hilarious joke (at the 2:45 mark)!

Just so clASSy, right?

Rolled right off his tongue!

Clearly, this guy uses just amount as thought and tact here as he did during the entire filming of X-Men: The Last Stand, so we're tragically not too shocked at his behavior - but we certainly think that this should be a wake-up call to everyone in this industry who continues to give him work!

The epic fail of Brett Ratner continues.

As reported earlier, Ratner recently came and had to defend his sexuality when it came to….shrimp? Now the director is throwing around hurtful hate speech.

According to reports, Ratner was asked after a screening of his new flick, Tower Heist, if he rehearsed with his actors. Ratner casually waved the question off and said "Rehearsal is for f*gs."

Bad, Brett Ratner….just bad.

X-Men 3: The Last Stand was everybody's favorite X-Men movie, right??

Wait, quit shouting, "Wrong!!" at your computers!

Ohhhhh that's right, it's regarded as the worst of the films and left a bad taste in everybody's mouth. A lot of people blame Ratner for directing it (he was probably dosed on shrimp), but he didn't just direct everything on the fly — the story came from somewhere.

And it came from Simon Kinberg.

So why would the production company totally redeem its franchise with X-Men: First Class and then decide to hire one of the people to blame for making the last one so bad??

Makes no sense!

Does this make U want to see the sequel less??
