This Is Why Brian Friedman Turned Down The Britney Tour

So he could find the next Britney himself.

Today, choreographer Brian Friedman, along with his partner producer Chan Andre, launched a search to find six incredible new artists to develop them into superstars. In conjunction with the launch of their new company, IDdentity UNknown, they'll be holding 4 days of auditions next week to find the big acts in music.

If you are a consider yourself to be an incredible male or female pop star, a male or female singer/songwriter, a frontman to band or a female music group, you're going to want to watch the video (above) to learn more about Brian's project. Sounds like an amazing opportunity for unheard acts to get the best exposure of their careers!

They haven't said so yet, but if they get a good following with this, maybe they'll turn this into a TV! Has potential!

Choreographer Pulls Out From Britney Tour!

Whomp, whomp!

Brian Friedman has announced that he will no longer be Britney Spear's dance man for her upcoming Femme Fatale tour. He took to his Twitter on Friday to break the news and announce his replacement:

"Due 2 scheduling conflicts Im not able 2 work on Brits FF tour. Im so thankful 2 have had the opportunity 2 reconnect on videos & promo tho!

Jamie King will be directing the tour again & has a great line up of new choreographers! Everyone make sure to go & support! I'll be there!"

Perhaps this has something to do with all the slack he got for the Hold It Against Me video! We think it might!

Here's hoping Jamie is ready to pull out all the stops! We want to see some serious moves on this tour!

Britney's Choreographer Talks New Music Video, Gets Defensive

Yesterday, we saw a 30 second clip from Britney's Hold It Against Me music video (above) and we were left feeling somewhat skeptical about her dance abilities of late.

Apparently, we weren't the only ones to feel that way. In fact, Brit Brit's choreographer Brian Friedman took to Twitter to address fan complaints:

"Britney Fans… I DIDNT edit or direct the video so please do not place hostility at me if you aren't happy with what you have seen or see. Britney worked her ass off for this video and she and I hope that you all love it."

We certainly love the song, but as far as the music video is concerned….well, as we said before, we aren't going to judge until the whole thing is released.

Thoughts???

Brit Brit Is Not Copying GaGa's Style In HIAM Video (Allegedly)

brit brit not copying gaga in hiam video

Looks like Britney' s team wants to make sure we don't think she's copying GaGa.

Here's what Brit Brit's choreographer Brian Friedman had to say about her upcoming Hold it Against Me music video.

"The styling for this video is beyond what Britney has done before. B. Åkerlund did the styling for it, and I can say that it is not 'Britney does Gaga.' That is not what's happening with this. Gaga has her own niche, and although B. has worked with Gaga before, she's not giving Britney anything that Gaga would wear. I love seeing Britney try out new things. It's just an extension of what Britney already is."

That's exactly the kind of thing we like to hear! More from Friedman:

"One of the places that we always tend to improve with Britney is on her beauty shots, when it's just Britney alone dancing, and one of the little tricks that I like to do is stand right off camera and scream words at her to try and get motivation from her and coach her through the little scenario that she's in, so we did that in this video. And I know there was a picture posted of a bunch of microphones around her face, and that's one of the scenes in particular where I was screaming at her on the side — in a good way."

And more:

"When we first started working and I had her back in the studio, I was referring to how she danced when we were working together in the past, when we were doing 'Slave,' 'Toxic,' like some of those things. She used to have a prowl about her and an attack that to me was like a tiger, so I kept telling her, 'I want to see the tiger back.' I scream the word 'tiger,' so 'tiger' seems to work. It makes her laugh, so it works."

All sounds great! We're glad to hear they're making an effort not to infringe upon GaGa territory…especially since Telephone director Jonas Åkerlund is working on the video.

Very excited to see the finished product, Britney! So good to have U back, bb!

Brit Brit's Choreographer Gives The Deets On Hold It Against Me Music Video!

brian-friedman-talks-about-choreography-for-britney-spears-hold-it-against-me-video

This is EXACTLY what we wanted to hear!

Although Britney Spears has done minimal to little dancing in the past few years, her former choreographer, Brian Friedman, recently opened up about reuniting with the pop star for the Jonas Åkerlund-directed music video for her new single, Hold It Against Me, and basically made our dreams come true by CONFIRMING that gurlfriend's FIERCE routines are back in full form!

He explains:

"I didn't necessarily have pressure with this — it was more excitement. I haven't been with Britney in five years on a project, so it was excitement to be back with her. It was excitement to get her dancing really hard again ’cause she's had a couple of years where she's been dancing different styles of dance and it hasn't been me. It's not necessarily that she hasn't been dancing, it hasn't been what I get from her, and what I seem to get from her is this tigress quality. And she prowls. She really dominates when she does my choreography, and that's what I wanted to get back. Excited yes, scared no. I can tell you that Britney is wearing a couple of hats in this video — not literal hats, but she's playing roles in this video. That is what I can give you. In every role, she is dancing. She is going to be dancing throughout the whole video. Like I said: Dance is the focal point of this video. She's taking fashion risks. Things we've never seen her wear before she's wearing in this video, and I think it's just very sexy and it's a little bit playful. She's going to be doing something in this video that we've never seen her do. I'm not gonna tell you what that is but she's going to be sweating and she's going to be getting bruised and battered."

Yes, yes, and YES!

It sounds like she's really not pulling any punches this time around!

It's about time, bb!

We're ready to see you show the world once again why you're QUEEN!

Thoughts??
